A little video of that Jumper squad in action against eventual 2A champion Corbin. Somerset allowed just 51 points in its ten wins that year, but Boyle found a way to put 28 on them.

I can't remember all the details from that Boyle/Somerset game.  But I think there might have been a special teams touchdown for Boyle in there.  @Hatz was a little older than I was and might remember the scoring better.  I remember the failed 2 point conversion at the end.

I was going to comment this. I grew up on the sidelines as a water boy with Coach Ridders son Ben. Coach Smith was our PE teacher in elementary school. Jason Skirvin was the first childhood hero I had

Not my school, but 1993 Danville always seems get a mention when this topic comes up. The Ads were champs in '91 & '92, rolling with a 42 game win streak before being stunned by Prestonsburg in th

That team was supremely talented and the game Tilghman lost to Boyle is still talked about often. That game gave me a healthy respect for Boyle that still exists. That PT team was also extremely well

From South central Kentucky you had teams like Allen County back in 2011 and Glasgow back in 2014. I believe both of those teams were undefeated heading into the state championship games?

Metcalfe County also had a dominant season back in 2008 I believe. Had a stud running back. I believe that team made the semi state game.

Monroe County also had a couple teams reach the semi state final games but ran into Antonio Andrews and Fort Campbell during their run of dominance.

Ridder is the MAN, so is Skirv.

I'd also say Danville's 1997 team that lost on a last second pass to Lexington Catholic would be on this list.  Sam Harp always saw that as the title that got away (aside from the 2006 8 minute meltdown vs. NCC).

We (NewCath) beat Bourbon County in the regular season final that year.  When I saw that they won the state title 4 weeks later...I wondered what happened to 2A, lol.

Boyle big played Somerset to death. I remember a return and long passes for TD plays. Somerset was ball control using Stephens and even running Sexton I think it was for like 400 yards. Plus they had a few turnovers. It was a perfect game for Boyle and Somerset took their anger out on Corbin.
