Cov Cath's freshman schedule on Hudl is currently showing the Freddy Colonels as open on Oct 15. In the 2024 season they played Scott during that week and in the 2025 season they played Trinity. Trinity's schedule this year has them playing Louisville St. X that week. Scott's freshman schedule on Arbiter (which may or may not be complete) currently has them open that date, but they do a Monday night game the following week against Bellevue. Not sure if that would be an opportunity for Cov Cath's freshman team to fill in with someone, or if they might try to get a game against St. Henry, or one of the other teams from Cincinnati.

Word is Moeller is being added to the Colonels Frosh schedule on that open date….

Moeller's athletics website hasn't updated from their freshman or JV schedules from 2025 to 2026 yet, but MaxPreps shows a Moeller freshman hosting Lakewood Saint Edward on Saturday Oct 17th at 1:15pm (which is immediately before the 3:00pm varsity game between the two). Saint Ed's athletics site shows their freshman-gold team playing at Moeller on Thursday Oct 15 at 1:00pm.

No updates on Cov Cath's side of things yet.

I was always under the impression that you could not play a freshman game until a varsity game has been played. I don't know why or where I thought that, but apparently, I was incorrect 😄

I thought that was the case as well, however in 2025 Dixie v Campbell Co was the week of the varsity opener & played before the varsity. Reasoning was the game was scheduled for early Oct at CC. They had a schedule conflict and asked to move it to Dixie. The only open date that week in Oct was Dixie's homecoming parade. So it was moved up to start before the varsity.

Ryle has a very good Frosh Team this year.

Who are the top Frosh teams this season? I have seen Highlands and Ryle. Both looked solid. Assuming Cov Cath will be good. Who else? Looking forward to the Highlands vs. Cov Cath game this evening.
