We need a "30 for 30" on what happened to Cooper.  Beats Sacred Heart with 65 points, loses to Assumption with 67, then BANG, 30 points vs Ryle and 42 vs Birds.  What happened?  

Congrats to the Birds!! They get Notre Dame in the semis.

Definitely very surprising with how the season ended over these last two games. 

I've said a million times on here that Coach Holthaus is the best Girls' basketball coach in this area since Coach Fookes, and today only underscores that.  I'm sure the His & Hers coaches will settle in, and good days will lie ahead, but this year fell off a cliff at a terrible time.  

Yikes. Very surprised by this outcome. Not a good end to the season for the Lady Jags!

No doubt, he is great. That is why I’m not worried about the Cooper Boys team at all, he will get that program going again. As this year was just a big talent drop no matter who coached the boys. This girls game result is very surprising. Especially since they just beat Highlands by 20 a month ago. 
 

Is there anyone on here who saw the Cooper/Ryle game and this one? Was there something defensively that Ryle did in that game, that Highlands was able to replicate and do too? As maybe Ryle found something to slow down Coopers offense, and Highlands was able to do the same thing.

A change this dramatic doesn't feel like an Xs and Os issue, to be honest.

My sentiments exactly. Unfortunate because this team was tailor made for another run to Rupp.

Hey you’re not the only one that felt that way. 12 of the 15 sports writers around the state picked them to win the region. 3 still have a shot of getting it right. 1 picked Holy Cross and 2 picked Ryle. Nobody saw a first round exit after their domination and all the accolades they receive. 

How about giving Coach Richey, her staff and team some credit.  

Coach Richey did an amazing job. I love watching teams come in with a well-defined game plan and watching their players execute it. The Highlands players never felt like underdogs. It was fun to watch.
