12th Region: Week 10

Featured Replies

If Ateny had been at DCA since 7th grade playing, he would probably be well over 4,000 points and who knows how many rebounds and blocks.  As for Absher, he was a late bloomer and has progressively increased his role and gotten better every season.

Somerset officially has locked up the #1 seed in the 47th district as of 12:00 today.  The final RPI margin was SHS .61043 and Pulaski Co. .60008.  It will be Somerset at Casey Co. and Pulaski Co. vs.

Garrard beats Lincoln by 3. So barring a Lincoln upset over DCA, I believe district will be:   1. DCA 2. Boyle 3. Garrard 4. Lincoln 5. Danville 6. KSD

  • I believe it is voted on late in the regular season.

If you had a draft and could only pick seniors from the 12th region, and you got the first pick in the draft, who are you taking? Your answer is who should win the award. I’m taking the 6’ 10” kid that shoots 40% from 3PT range and 80% from the line.

Absher and Phillips are GREAT players, that I absolutely love watching, too.

This region has a lot of talented coaches and kids, and whoever wins will be deserving. But, nobody really cares who wins that award, it’s who goes to Rupp is what is to be remembered!

Good summary.  And, I would add, who blocks or alters a lot of shots and averages double figures in rebounds.

It’s no coincidence that these three are the best players on the three top teams in the region.  Can you imagine a team with all three of them?  Three players all shooting over 40% from three and 80% from the line.

The player of the year and the coach of the year awards are unbelievably biased. Way too much tension in this region for coaches to be voting for anything. "Good ole boy" system also in full effect.

Boyle beat McCreary Central by 12 last night on the road. DCA awaits tonight.

Despite winning at MC Boyle's offense continues to under perform. Don't understand what the new coach is trying to run in the half court. Keeps one of the stronger inside players in the region out beyond the 3 pt line half the time. Driver is not a 3 pt threat but great inside and on the boards. I know this the coach's first head job but he should have figured out by now where his strength and weakness is. Hope he keeps Driver inside and that would also help to open up their 3 pt game which is decent. Boyle plays pretty good defense and can play with about anyone in the region on a given night.

I mimic those thoughts after watching the other night, and several other games.  No set actions for Driver to get a block touch at all.  GC is limited on the interior with Montgomery serving as a small 5.  They should try to punish them inside.
