Prolonged significant impacts are expected, including very dangerous road conditions, tree damage, downed power lines, and multi-day power outages.

That ice line got as far north as southern Campbell County. Still getting ice pellets as I speak. Snow has tapered off a bit.

Southbound I75 at Turfway.

Easier shoveling in N. Ky., relatively speaking, than you might expect. A lot of snow but powdery and lighter than expected because of that.

I hesitate to get out there yet because it is going to snow more and it is pretty windy.

I get that. I wanted to knock out the bulk of it before football today.

IKR!  That is the other factor.  I was thinking if the AFC game goes off the rails there might be a window of opportunity.  

This is what we have at my house. My son and I were clearing the driveway and walkway. The battery ran down on my Snow Joe. First time that has happened. The snow and freezing rain accumulation is so thick. It is a little over the capacity of the shovel of 6 inches. I wouldn't be shoveling this snow if I didn't have one. 

 

 

Were you fully charged when you started?

I'm about to venture out and test out my new snow blower I just purchased a couple months ago. We have 9 inches of snow on my back deck as of 1 pm. 

Well, I just shoveled for an hour straight and that was no fun at all.  There are a bunch of pretty good sized buildings where I live (in a creek valley) and the wind gives us "more snow" sometimes.  I had a solid ten inches in several places and at least eight in others, that was pretty tough. 

Snow blower worked really well on my first attempt with it. Got a path on the driveway and did our sidewalk and some of the neighbors sidewalk. I only lasted about 10 minutes because the gloves I had on were very inferior. Gonna head back out in a few minutes and see what I can get done.
