He does have 5 years experience coaching under Paul Wiggins at Brossart not just at Pendleton County.  I think he is a great choice as my older son had him for 4 years before he left for Pendleton

I believe Brossart has only made it past the second round once in its history. So the history of playoff success you are talking about, isn’t something great to where he can’t do the same. As I think he very easily can at least replicate the same playoff success of being a first or second round playoff team as they usually are. Especially early on in his tenure. 
 

I think this is a good hire, especially if he puts a good staff around him. 

Best of luck to Coach Martin! Have always been told how difficult it is to be the Head Coach and not be in the school building, hope it can work out in his favor!

I think hiring someone young with ties to the school is a great hire and a fantastic opportunity for their program. I think they were looking for stability and longevity and someone like this could certainly provide that. Obviously a home run example, but you could look at is former Coach Schneider from NCC. He was hired at 38 and stayed for 44 years with many wins. As someone rooting for Brossart’s success I hope something similar for Coach Martin and the Mustangs. 

What does Coach Martin do for a living and is there potential for him to have a role in the building?

He has his own flooring business. I don’t know what opportunities there would be available in the school.

Shop class would be a good one. Flooring is a huge cost in home ownership.

I agree. I expected Bishop Brossart to attract applicants with more experience and proven success. From the outside, the program appears to have strong support from the school and administration. However, from what I’ve heard—whether fully accurate or not—Kozerski’s departure had more to do with ongoing parent issues than anything else. He was a very good coach and, given time, could have accomplished a lot there.

Situations like this serve as a reminder that parents need to stay in their lane: let coaches coach, players play, and officials officiate. Too often, we see quality coaches pushed out of the game because of outside pressure, all in the name of making sure “little Tommy or Sally” gets what someone thinks they deserve.

In my opinion, being in the building nowadays is overrated and does not necessarily help or hurt success. While it can be beneficial for discipline and visibility within the community, those same outcomes can be achieved in other ways, even if they require more intentional effort.
