Please tell me we get CovCath and Highlands again next week? Congrats to the Colonels!

Dylan Gaiser with 7 carries for 145 yards and 3 touchdowns. Cash Harney with 6 carries for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns. Harney was 1-5 passing for 9 yards. (Not sure if the pass to Dylan Gaiser to score the 2-point conversion counts towards passing stats, but I don't believe so.)

By my count Cov Cath's offense ran the ball 14 times, passed 5 times, and punted 3 times for 22 total plays, 299 yards, and 5 touchdowns.

Johnson Central's offense ran the ball 75 times, passed 4 times, punted once, and kicked once for 81 total plays, 445 yards, and 4 touchdowns.

*IF* that rematch happens, with RPI's standing as they do, I believe the Cov Cath vs. Highlands rematch would presumably take place in Lexington.

RPI shuffles things up in the 3rd round.

- Highest remaining seed in districts 1-4 will host the fourth-highest remaining in districts 1-4; so that means Franklin County will host North Oldham.

- 2nd highest remaining seed in districts 1-4 will host the third-highest remaining seed in districts 1-4; so that means Paducah Tilghman will host Logan County.

- Highest remaining seed in districts 5-8 host the fourth-highest remaining in districts 5-8; so that means Boyle County will host Covington Catholic.

- 2nd highest remaining seed in districts 5-8 host the third-highest remaining seed in districts 5-8; so that means Highlands will host Corbin.

At Boyle County is what it should be for the Colonels next…..very winnable….save that for the game thread.

Bingo. Anything can happen in the playoffs! 

I believe Corbin will give Highlands a good game in Caketown. Boyle County is beatable on their turf as shown by the Colonels last year. 

If Cov Cath wins next week as does Franklin County, the Colonels would travel to Frankfort. I know the Colonels fell last year versus Franklin County. They are looking for revenge. 

So too can be said of Boyle County from their playoff loss at the hands of CCH last year. One game at a time.

A Cov Cath vs. Highlands championship would be unreal. A rivalry revenge game for the Colonels for all the marbles would be everlasting if we came out victorious. ?

Cov Cath averaged almost 16 yards per play, had 5 touchdowns of over 29 yards and barely won this. Goes to show how good and unique JC’s offense is. 

The difference in athleticism once Harney and Gaiser got in space was the big difference to me along with JC’s inability to throw the ball. If they were able to even be a C level team throwing it the game might have looked a little different at the end of the first half along with the end of the game.

Does this say more for CovCaths offense or how poor JCs defense is? Those averages are insane.
