Final. The Cats after trailing 7-3 went on a 35-0 run to win going away and improve now to 4-5 and play (10-0) Tennessee Tech next Saturday.

It is always nice beating Florida. However, I have seen this song and dance many times with the Bengals. Finding a way to finish a season strong, then gives the higher ups an excuse to keep a coach for another year. Only to continue to be below average to average at best.

My son, Trosper, is a student assistant at UK. He works on the offensive side of the ball and signals in the plays.

On defense, Linebacker Alex Afari, safety Jordan Lovett, and Edge Sam Greene all went down with injuries, and Stoops thinks they will be out for a couple of weeks. ?

What exactly is their to he optimistic about? I think three sec wins in last two years. To the only time usually beat sec teams is when that SEC team is down and also has losing record in the sec that year. Which the two SEC wins we have this year is over Auburn who fired their coach the next day and Florida who already fired their coach. So two schools whose seasons were also a mess. 
 

I just don’t want to see them find a reason to say hey let’s run it back again.

Like I said in the update thread, worst Gator team I remember.  But I don't want to take anything away from the Cats, we had Texas on the ropes and then beat Auburn and Florida, I like it!

No doubt. If they can go out and win these next 3 weeks too, and make sure they keep their QB. Then I may change my mind, and agree he deserves another season. However, the Bengals have given me PTSD through the years by doing this same thing with having bad seasons. Yet finishing strong, giving higher ups reason to run it back.

Kinda different attitude toward football compared to UK hoops isn’t it? You praised Cal through his debacle years before he finally flew the coop to Arkansas and see where they are now? Just don’t see where football should be any different?

Cal won UK a national title, multiple final fours. One of the most successful overall coaches UK bball has had. Then Cal even after leaving UK went and beat Pope and UK, also made it just as far in the tournament last year. Remember if you look back, I agreed he wasn’t doing as well and was time to move on. Our biggest disagreements over him, came when you all acted like he was just a horrible coach. Which saying look where UK is now, doesn’t really help your argument since Cal also did the same and beat Pope and UK. Not to mention upset Pitino once again in the tournament.  All it shows it Cal wasn’t as bad as you all wanted to act like, but also shows was definitely best for both parties to have moved on. Which probably is the case here in football too. 

 Stoops has lost double the amount of SEC games as he has won. As Stoops has a 30-67 record in SEC play. He had an overall record below .500 at 71-78. He did a good job obviously at bringing the program up from being just bad, to at least average most years and two good years. Even though those good years, still wouldn’t have gotten us in the current playoff system.

 

With how college football is now, with the playoffs, etc. We shouldn’t be content with average, and only beating bad SEC teams even in good years. Even in the two best Stoops years, where they only lost 3 games. They still wouldn’t have made the playoffs in those years. Which I believe is the best we will get from Stoops. It is time to try to find someone that may be able to raise our play, as winning more in the SEC is what matters. 
 

Which I don’t want to hear the argument that it is unrealistic to think UK football can possibly make the playoffs. Until two years ago, people would have thought it was even more unrealistic to think Indiana football could ever even come close to winning the Big 10 and making the playoffs, especially with the Big 10 expanding. Yet they got a coach in there and who has got them to that level. 

With having a playoff now and more teams making it. Have to think higher than what we have gotten from Stoops.

Quite obvious UK football doesn’t have the same standards that our hoops team has! So comparing the two programs really isn’t fair as most would agree and comparing the two coaches with winning percentage isn’t fair as well, so let’s see how the remainder of this football season plays out.
