Yeah, 45 minutes on a bus! I dont know how they will survive!

 

44 mile trip from 1500 Blazer Blvd to Elliot County High School. I'm not well informed about all the tradition of the Blazer bus garage, I've heard they have had some legendary mechanics, quite a few banners hanging in that old garage.Unless they have some kind of super bus built, taking into consideration the weather and obeying local traffic laws, I would say you are looking at somewhere between an Hour and an Hour and 15 minutes.

People complain about having to come to Sandy Hook (although...thanks to some helpful state legislators the drive is quickly becoming much better), and sometimes use that as an excuse when the lose. However, the drive is usually only once or twice a year for these teams. Every time Elliott leaves Sandy Hook for a road game they get the pleasure of the travel. I have never heard anyone from Elliott say "Gosh that awful bus ride to Ashland really cost us an advantage last year."

I dont think anyone was really using the drive as an excuse. I somewhat jokingly used it in my prediction for an Elliot win. If Elliot were traveling to Ashland as I thought they were when the game was scheduled for tuesday, I still would and did pick Elliot to win that one also. an hour bus ride isnt really that horrible. I played sports in high school and I can say that long bus rides do seem to kind of put you to sleep.

No one was suggesting that Ashland forfeit the game GIAT. I was simply stating that riding a bus for an hour might take a small toll on the players, it was crazy for me to think that and I apologize.

 

Okay, I change my prediction....

The hour and some odd minute drive energizes every single Ashland player, coach, cheerleader and fan. Ashland comes out and scores 100 in the first half and 110 in the second half.

I understand. However, almost every time a visiting team walks into ECHS they are complaining about the drive. I know the drive is bad .. especially when most other schools in the 16th are connected by I-64. I even had a conversation with a Greenup parent that wanted Elliott and Morgan moved from the 16th because it would "be more convienent." He even said Elliott should probably be in the 14th?????

 

In any case, the drive is just as bad when we leave Sandy Hook as it is when every other team enters.

Travel in any Region, can be minimal, normal or substantial....Part of it.

Don't really want to argue just want a real answer to one question! What can the coach do about 34%fg and 28%ft shooting during a game???????

What can they do? I don't know about what Ms Lib thinks, but I would have had a 46% three point shooter in and get him good shots and while his ft% may be a little down every knows he's around a 90% shooter. If the switch is not going to work out on the defensive end, than get more 0-fense in!

I love going to Elliott Co. for a game. The drive isn't that bad since the new portion of the road is complete. We have allways been treated well there.

That being said Elliott wins by 8 no matter where they play. They are a better team.

A coach can do nothing about poor shooting during a game but pray that it gets better quick.

Thats pretty much all 1st half, except for T.Knipp. The momentum had changed and a good time for Maynard would have been around the 6 minute mark in the 4th. If things had changed, he than could have went offense/defense.

We could sat here and make excuses till the a.m., but the truth is he gave almost everyone on the bench a shot at one time or another and noone

performed!! No more No less!!!!!!
