The Kentucky Wildcats (2-1) (0-1) travel to Columbia to take on the Gamecocks of South Carolina (2-2) (0-2) in a SEC matchup on Saturday, September 27th with kickoff at 7:45pm the game will be broadcast on the SEC Network. The Cats are coming off their first of 2 bye weeks and the Gamecocks are coming off a tough road loss at Missouri. This is a big game for both teams as they both will be looking for the first conference win of the season. The Cats will need this as after this they will travel to Georgia and host Texas before the next bye week. The Gamecocks are already 0-2 in conference play and cannot afford to drop to 0-3. At the start of the season this did not look to be a winnable game for the Cats with all of the preseason hype around South Carolina, now if the Cats can put together a good all-around game offensively, they may just have a chance. Go Cats! Go Big Blue!!

Definitely a winnable game for the Cats, and they have to have it. I think they get it done.

Spent six months in Columbia, SC at Ft. Jackson in the early 70s.  I don’t think this game will improve my feelings about the area.  Gamecocks by 2 TDs.

Kentucky 24-20.

Beamer seems to have Stoops' number the last few seasons. SC has seemed to not only out play UK physically, they also seemed to out scheme them on both sides of the ball.

Brad White needs to mix it up and bring pressure instead of just sitting back and allowing the SC QB just pick them apart with quick short passes all day.

Offensively if UK can run and set up true play action threat they may be able to be successful on offense, but the receivers HAVE to get separation. They haven't shown that they can do that.

I think we play soft D and Sellers picks us apart while the offense get pressured all day giving Boley no time to throw. Under Stoops UK is 5-10 off of a bye week...that trend continues.

SC 34

UK 13

Hope I'm wrong.

7-0 Cats fantastic first drive.

The Gamecocks come right back and march down the field and score on their opening drive and tie it at 7 with 5:48 still left in the 1st quarter.

Cats get a FG to go back up 10-7 at the start of the 2nd quarter.

How did the Cats lineman miss that sack! That cannot happen! Lucky he came up a couple of yards short.

Luckily he slid way short.

My goodness I turned to watch the Reds bat in 4 minutes we throw a pick 6. We need to score here but after that drop by Boley that is not happening. lol

We are going for it on a 4th and 3 and at mid-field and it doesn't work.

Getting a serious dose of freshman quarterback play tonight.
