The Bracken County Polar Bears host the Sayre Spartans this Friday night in what should be one of the better Class A matchups of the week. Both teams are coming off impressive Week 4 wins.

Bracken County leaned on its powerful ground game to put up 41 points against what was thought to be a tough Brossart defense. Even without key players Benedict and Tarter, the Polar Bears cruised to a dominant win and will look to keep that momentum rolling.

On the other side, Sayre finally seems to be finding its rhythm. The Spartans exploded against Williamsburg, jumping out to a 41-0 lead before allowing two late scores once the backups were in.

This sets up an intriguing clash: Bracken’s physical run game versus a Sayre team that appears to be hitting its stride offensively. Should be a fun one to watch—who do you think comes out on top?

The defending 1A State Champion Spartans head to Brooksville to take on the Polar Bears.  Despite the short-handed Bracken County team, they defeated Bishop Brossart last week 41-13.  Sayre beat Brossart 8-6 on a last second touchdown two weeks ago.

Could Bracken put a running clock on Sayre? Since they just put one on Bishop Brossart. Sayre barely escaped with a win against them 8-5.

Bracken County held Bishop Brossart to -10 rushing yards on nine carries.

I don’t think that logic works with this game. Brossart played one of their best games in years against Sayre then two weeks later played one of their flattest games in years against Bracken. Not to take away anything from Bracken’s win against Brossart last week as they were a dominant force for sure. I do think Bracken’s formidable size and skill on Oline and Dline could pose a problem for Sayre though.

Don’t sleep on Bracken. Sleep keeps happening and Bracken keeps finding next man up. Also, Bracken is AA. This is not a Class A matchup. (Not sympathy for a school that decides their enrollment, this is just not 1A v 1A)

Easy to control enrollment when your tuition is $30,000 a year lol

21-0 Sayre at half.

28-0 Sayre with 6:23 to go.
