Saint Xavier (3-0) will host Elder (OH) (4-0) on Friday at 7:00 pm.

St. X is coming off an open week.

Elder is ranked #10 in Ohio D1.

Elder is coming off a 16-8 win over La Salle (OH)

Elder last year won on a last second FG 17-15 over St. X.

Elder leads the series 6-4-2 but on the road at St. X they are 2-3-1. Elder has a 3 game win streak over St. X.

In last year's game, Elder had 161 yards rushing and 146 yards passing. St. X had 239 yards passing and 66 yards rushing. 

St. X has had two weeks to prepare for Elder and Marlon Harbin had 64 rushing yards and 58 receiving yards but no Touchdowns in last year's game so he will be a key for St. X in this game. QB Mason Trimble had a good game throwing 229 yards. 
 

Elder is led by QB Kaden Estep who is a running and throwing veteran and played in this game last year.

Does St. X break Elder's 3 game win streak over St. X or does St. X keep Elder with a road losing record in this series?

Elder has been a surprise this year in Ohio D1. They are playing very well defensively and being efficient on offense. I’m taking Elder in this one.

Gotta go with Elder.  Every year they are one of the best coached teams, period.  Their offense is an absolute nightmare to prepare for.  They don't get fancy with their plays, but they will absolutely overwhelm you with formations, trying to exploit a mismatch somewhere.   Many of thr formations look the same to the casual observer, but they'll switch the X and Y or the Z and H back....things like that.  They also love to shift.  If your defensive communication isn't on point, it'll be a long night.

May not be a popular opinion but I'm taking X by 2-3 scores.

X should win this if they are up. I felt like Elder was a big time WR and DB short from being able to threaten against the better Ohio D1 schools, but still a very quality, well coached team with a D1 QB. 

 

Elder has yet to give up a touchdown in the first half. St. X has scored a touchdown in the first half of every game this season. One of those streaks will be broke in this game.

St. X doesn't have school tomorrow plus coming off a bye week the Tigers should be well rested.

Random thought slightly off topic.......How does this play out with Elder playing 3 Kentucky schools as far as their RPI?  - St Xavier, CovCath and Highlands.

They have Harbin point system and they use boys enrollment of the out of state school to determine what level points. Plus I think they look at win total of the school.
