Final. Holy Cross starts the season 3-0 and takes on Holmes next week. 

Nice win for Holy Cross. I can’t remember the last time CNE played anyone from KY. I know Dayton played Fayetteville for a couple seasons a. while back, which was a little more up on 50 into Brown County.

Covington Holy Cross crossed the Ohio River to beat Clermont Northeastern 45-15 to go 3-0 for the first time in school history.

For Holy Cross, QB Brian Ferguson had another big game statistically tonight by rushing 10 times for 76 yards and 1 TD.  He also was 7-18 for 157 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT.  RB Charles Oglesby ran 8 times for 41 yards and a TD.  The Thornberry WR cousins were active again - Braylon had 3 catches for 77 yards and 2 TDs and Xavier had 1 catch for 39 yards and a TD.  TE Max Hunt was also in the scoring column having 3 catches for 41 yards and a TD.  

For Clermont Northeastern, QB Brady Schmidt was 10-25 for 190 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT.  WR Bacon Geer had 4 receptions for 134 yards and a TD.  The Rockets opened the scoring with a 54 yard pass from Schmidt to Geer and they completed the two point conversion.  However, they did not score again until very late in the game.  The Rockets were held to -13 yards rushing.

Next Friday night, Covington Holy Cross (3-0) is at home to play Holmes while Clermont Northeastern (0-3) is on the road to play Lockland.

Have to like their chances the next three weeks against Holmes, Eminence, and Frankfort. That Brossart game on October 10 is shaping up to be a dandy.
