Covington Catholic wins and possibly by running clock.

We got a possibly. Unfortunately for Joe Wynn and Co. I think Cov Cath is about to break him in on how it feels when these two teams play each other. No disrespect there I really respect all parties involved. I know he is born and raised in NKY and he dealt with them at Mason County but this match up is different rght here. I do think Harris will have over 100 yards and I hope he gets to the endzone a time or 2. That boy is nice I hope he plans to continue playing after high school.

Not true. I watched the entire game film and encourage you to do the same thing. The offensive starters played every series. The announcers even said right after the 2:54:00 mark when Simon Kento

@Colonels_Wear_Blue please do not let @MaddenCurse44 offend you when he explains to you how SK will win this game.

  • CovCath - A lot SK - Not as much

I thought Cash looked as good throwing the ball last week as he has had as a starter. A few of the incompletions were on the receivers and not him and the pick he sailed was a very difficult throw over the backer and in front of the safety. Hopefully we can jump on a quick lead and keep working on this.

Has anyone heard if we will get Zach Brooks, Jackson Payne, or Landon Robinson back for this game…..key pieces is an understatement….although next man up was on full display in the Pit as I thought guys stepped up huge on a monster stage…..

Webb is 22/35 401 yards 4 tds 1 int and 1 rushing td

Brown 24 carries 206 yards 2 tds

Pendleton 11 carries 54 yards 2 tds and 5 catches 46 yards

Smith 10 carries 49 yards

Harris 12 catches 287 yards 3 tds and 3 ints on defense

Hughes 4 catches 84 yards 1 td

He did but not sure about this WR group. Felt many times he had time and nobody was open or could get open.

Feel like SK has a better chance than people think.

Agreed. It's going to be the Cash and Gaiser show, but would love to see the two tight ends who are big and athletic enough to get verbally offered by an SEC school involved more. Only 5 touches between them through 2 games. Feels like a good game to get those two the rock.

I don't see a way this isn't a running clock by half time. The two teams SK has played at this point in the season are not good teams, they struggled with both in the first half.

Pioneers homecoming is Friday as well should be a sold out game!

Whose idea was to make the homecoming game a blowout loss? Campbell County was right there.

It’s very hard any WR to catch the ball if you don’t get targeted.  Bradshaw not targeted until the 4th quarter despite being open on several plays.  Cash was 11/16 this game. 1 was the last drive interception.  1 was a dropped pass. The other 3 were not the best passes but I will say Cash was under pressure.

For the passing game to work, the oline has to block, the QB has to make the throw, the receiver has to make the catch.  Since CovCath has so great of a running attack the run game can easily be used to setup the pass.  Play action, RPO, etc.  Gotta use your personnel better.

Completely agree. Simon Kenton was actually losing 16-15 to a less-than-mediocre Western Brown team with only 12 seconds left in the first half of the game, and only led 22-16 at the half. For starters Simon Kenton has over 1100 more students than Western Brown so by all right they sure oughta be beating them, but on top of that, Western Brown is an extremely sloppy team with less size and less talent than Simon Kenton, and they were pushing Simon Kenton all over the field last Friday.

Dixie, well, Dixie is Dixie and as has been the trend for the majority of the last 3 decades, when they actually manage to get out of their own way, they still find a way to implode. Simon Kenton was in an absolute slugfest two weeks ago with a Dixie team that turned around and got stomped at home by Badin (who also has less than half the enrollment of Dixie), who had over 500 yards of offense on Dixie in their 66-21 win. The Rams had two rushers and a receiver each with over 100 yards a piece. Simon Kenton was only up 6-3 at halftime in their game against Dixie, and I've been told Dixie had the same number of red-zone drives as the Pioneers in the game...one of which ended in a field goal, and another that ended in a missed field goal. That's an awful lot of threatening from a not very good team for Simon Kenton.

Grant Webb is an extremely solid quarterback, especially when you consider the fact that he's a sophomore. Grayson Harris is a very good receiver, Landon Brown is a good RB, and Jordan Pendleton is an athlete any coach would be happy to have in his arsenal. I don't mean to disparage any of that, but let's call a spade a spade here, Western Brown is a cupcake and did a great job of making several Simon Kenton players' stats look good. The Neers should have been steamrolling the Broncos the entire game, and despite getting a 43 yard return on the opening kickoff followed by a 42 yard touchdown pass on the play from scrimmage in the game, Simon Kenton was struggling to take definitive control of the game until the 3Q. Even with that said, that was a great game for padding stats with the Pioneer starters playing all 48 minutes of that game against a sub-par competitor.

Webb: 22/35 passing for 401 yards 4 TDs 1 int and 1 rushing TD. 15/23 of those pass attempts, 287 of those passing yards, 3 of those passing TDs and the 1 rushing TD all came in one game against a bad Western Brown team.

Brown:  24 carries 206 yards 2 TDs. His rushing yards and touchdowns are split basically 50/50 between the two games with 12 carries 84 yards and 1 TD against Western Brown.

Smith: 10 carries 49 yards. 4 carries for 0 yards against Dixie, and 6 carries for 49 yards against Western Brown. It's hard to complain about 8.16 yards per carry, but again...against Western Brown.

Harris: 12 catches 287 yards 3 tds and 3 ints on defense. 8 of those catches, 237 of those yards receiving, all 3 touchdowns, and 2 of those 3 interceptions were against Western Brown.

Hughes: 4 catches 84 yards 1 td. 3 catches for 77 yards against Dixie and 1 catch for 7 yards against Western Brown.

Starters came out of the 4th qtr.
