On the opening day for the College World Series Coastal Carolina defeated Arizona 7-4 and Oregon defeated Louisville 4-3. The Louisville and Oregon was up 3-1 going to the top of 9 and Louisville scored 2 runs to tie it at 3 but Oregon scored a run in the bottom of the 9th to get the win. Arizona and Louisville will play in the first elimination game tomorrow at 2:00pm on ESPN. 

Today at 2:00pm has Cinderella Murray State taking on UCLA and at 7:00pm a SEC game between LSU and Arkansas both games are on ESPN.

In the first game today the Racers of Murray State fell to UCLA 6-4. They will play the loser of tonight's LSU and Arkansas game on Monday at 2:00pm on ESPN.

In the last game of the opening games of the College World Series between two SEC teams LSU defeated Arkansas 4-1. On Monday Arkansas will take on Murray State at 2:00pm in an elimination game. LSU will take on UCLA at 7:00pm on Monday night both games will be on ESPN. Tomorrow at 2:00pm will be the first elimination game between Arizona and Louisville and in the 7:00pm game the two winners from yesterday will play Coastal Carolina and Oregon State.

Louisville trailed in their elimination game this afternoon 3-1 going to the bottom of the 7th vs. Arizona and erupted for 7 runs in their last 2 at bats to win and eliminate Arizona 8-3.  They will play the loser of the 7:00pm game tonight between Coastal Carolina and Oregon State.

Coastal Carolina is leading Oregon State 6-1 through 4 innings.

Coastal Carolina has defeated Oregon State 6-2 to advance to Wednesday afternoon to take on the UCLA and LSU winner tomorrow night for a spot in the Championship Game. Oregon State will take on Louisville in an elimination game on Tuesday at 2:00pm.

Coastal Carolina looks awfully good and looks the part of a team focused on winning the whole thing.

I am almost positive the brackets do not cross over.  Coastal Carolina will play the winner of the Louisville/Oregon State game with that winner having to beat Coastal 2X to get to the championship game where they play the winner of the other bracket in a 2 out of 3 series.  

For anyone that is interested the Arkansas and Murray State game is starting on ESPN this afternoon at 2:00pm or in about 4-6 minutes.

Through the first innings it was 0-0 the Hogs got a run in the top of the 3rd and runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs, but Murray State got out of it with no more damage done.

Still 1-0 Arkansas through 4 1/2 innings.

Murray State wasn’t going to get a hit against that Arkansas pitcher if they played all night. He was dominant.

That said…that’s a hit by pitch on the lead off man in the 9th inning and I can’t be convinced otherwise. 

Congrats to Murray State on a great season. A tough way to go out to get no hit but that was on of if not the best pitching performance I have seen at the college level. Ward not only threw a no-hitter, but he struck out 19 or the Racers 27 outs.

In the night game between UCLA and LSU was suspended due to weather after 3 innings with LSU leading 5-3 and will be resumed at 11:00am in the morning.
