  • Paducah Tilghman lost the final of the “Best of the West” tourney to Pearl Cohn. The last 4 standing were PT (KY 4A Champ) PC (TN 4A finalist) Macon Co (TN 4A Champ) Franklin Co (KY 4A finalist).

  • Maybe they’ve been listening to play by play guys to much.    Pretty ridiculous for coaches (adults) to be saying anything negative to a player(child). Positive words or none at all. It starts

  • Is that Cal vs. Stanford or Belfry vs. Johnson Central?

I believe there is one in Newport in July called "Rumble on the River". Consist of Newport, Dayton, Ludlow, and Bellevue if I'm not mistaken.

Why do you think there isn't any or at least substantially more 7v7 events near NKY at this time of year. I noticed the same thing looking into 7v7 tournaments outside of high school football that there wasn't hardly any in the tri state area. I did see Charles Johnson recently had some teams playing in a tournament at Paycor stadium.

Some of it is just admittedly what has or hasn't shown up in a very public manner so far. I did just come across the Bishop Brossart schedule that showed their involvement in a Northern Kentucky Football Coaches Association 7-on-7 League, so it appears that at least in NKY a lot of the teams just work out locally in 7-on-7 competitions. There hasn't been much showing up around Jefferson County, but especially with the JCPS programs, there frequently isn't much that is publicly said by the programs about what they have going on in the first place...so I can't say I'm surprised that there hasn't been too much publicized about 7-on-7 tournaments around Louisville or involving the schools from Louisville.

It does definitely seem like the schools around Eastern KY, Western KY, and especially Central Kentucky tend to make a bigger deal about advertising 7-on-7's as more of an "event" versus just being drills.

Pretty Sure McCracken County is having theirs July 17th and FCA of Western Kentucky is having one at Murray State on July 18th.

Confirmed Greenwood's 7v7 is:

Small School and JV on Thursday July 17 and

Large School is on Friday July 18.

They need a few more teams, but most team spots are filled.  Reach out to them if you'd like to participate!

This was a great event last season.  Very well organized and attended.

I would assume it was because teams realized they wouldn’t be able to practice in shoulder pads starting July 22nd, if they wanted to play in it. As I believe that state rule is, after you practice in shoulder pads the first time starting on July 22nd. You then are no longer allowed to do 7 on 7s against anyone. Or at least that use to be the rule, unless it recently changed.

Mercer County has canceled their 7-on-7 tournament due to lack of interest.

Colerain Cincinnati went 8-1 in a tournament at Ohio State.
