February 3, 200719 yr Donovan would come to UK in a heart beat. Nothing wrong with flordia but like LSURock said basketball is second fiddle to footbll down there. It was 18 years between championships, but they were final fours and they were competitive. I was reading an article in ESPN the magizine, and they were talking about how rupp was one of the most intemidating if not the most intemidating place to play.NOws its like no big deal to play UK. I was at the mississippi valley state game and that was a team that UK should have beaten by 30 if not 40 points. But some may say it was an off night, but having an off night aginst team like a MVSU over and over agian there has to be something wrong!    He would be a fool to come to UK. At UF he is a God, and with the football team being #1 there, it takes the pressure off of him. At UK he would be expected to win starting day one and if he did not produce a championship in three years, the same people who are yelling for him to come to UK would be yelling for him to leave. I think UK waited too long to get him, if they would have tried before UF became champs they would have had a chance. Between better weather, recruiting pipeline and than the fact that basketball takes 2nd fiddle; UF might be the best coaching job in the nation. :thumb:
February 3, 200719 yr And saying we got Perry over the likes of Lofton. Wrong. The class we signed Lofton's year is arguably the best class, on paper, ever signed at UK. You beat me to commenting on this. Perry was not only in a different class than Lofton, he is also playing a different position. That class was a really good class, they just didn't mesh well together with Rondo, and a few players haven't lived up to expectations consistently yet. I don't know that I would give them the best ever label though.
February 3, 200719 yr If so, I think he may be in troube. I think Patterson will be a Dukie, or maybe a Gator. IMO Going by what Patterson said last night, UK is his leader at this point. Duke IMO is there competition for Patrick.

I think Donavon would be very interested in the UK job (whenever Tubby decides to retire), however I think he goes to the Knicks next year ending all the speculation.
February 3, 200719 yr Tubby will leave on his own accord and that's the way it should be. Suck it up 18% or find a new team.

Maybe so, but I think he is smarter than that. I think he knows that he is in a better place. If he goes anywhere, it will be NBA. He would be a fool to do that too, different game up there with the pros.
February 4, 200719 yr Morris and Crawfrd are okay players, nothing that a school like duke or even flordia would look at though. Seriously?
February 4, 200719 yr After winning a championship with somone else's team, Tubb Smith hasnt produced any results in the big dance with one of the greatest college basketball schools there is. As a Kentucky fan i dont see tubby staying much longer without producing championships. He is a good coach dont get me wrong but i do not think he is the right coach for UK. Recurting is horable, he gets someone like Perry over someone like Chris Lofton, who is putting hole UT bball team on his shoulders. Used to the name Kentucky would get nothing but All Americans now, we are lucky if they get one let alone good ones at that. Morris and Crawfrd are okay players, nothing that a school like duke or even flordia would look at though. I think that this is the last if not one of the last teams that Tubby Smith has at UK. What your opioion? My opinion is that this is one of the worst statements ever made on this website.
