I don't think there was a much better first round matchup possible. One of our contenders for the title will be knocked out tonight, and it is a toss up on who it might be. These teams met up earlier this year in Independence, Simon winning by 12.

The Pioneers are led by senior guard Jay Bilton, averaging 11.8 ppg. Alongside him are some extremely disciplined and well-balanced roll players such as Jordan Bach and Bode Stone. The Pioneers can cause havoc on the defensive end, and I expect them to do just that tonight.

South Oldham, as always, will have 5 sharpshooters on the court at all times. Of these sharpshooters, 8th Region POTY Julian Miles will lead the way. Only playing in one regional game in his career, Miles will be hungry to make a statement in his last shot at a regional title.

Can Steiner get over the hump?  The man has definitely put his dues in.  I also believe he has the team to do it, but it seems when it really counts they find a way to lose it.  I would say this was not the first round matchup they wanted. Sure SK plays great defense, but Steve Simpson is a great coach, and probably been watching video on their first meeting.  The dragons will shoot the lights out of the Roy tonight, and if they are hitting look out.  Shoot till you make it, and keep shooting till you miss is the Steve Simpson philosophy. Should be a great game. I'm a 32nd district guy and will root for SK but my gut tells me South by 4.

I’m hoping South gets it done but I think SK is certainly talented enough to defeat the Dragons for the second time this season. Glicod will have this game on YouTube for those wondering.

South Oldham is up 14-11 at the end of the 1st. SK defense giving South problems early. Dragons shooting keeping them ahead.

Dragons remain ahead 45-33 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. SK will need to score at a faster rate if they want to get back in the game.
