I had a good view of that play.  It wasn’t in the cylinder.

I thought it was when I saw it on the live stream. I didn’t even think it was close but I only saw it that one time and angles can be deceiving. I will say that the guys (from Lincoln) that were calling it watched a replay and said it was still on the cylinder.

They sit on the catwalk at the other end of the gym so they definitely didn't have a good angle on it.  I was at basket level on that end and it looked good to me though it was definitely close.  Here's a screenshot of when Lual's hand hit the ball.  If it was goaltending it wasn't as clear cut as several people are claiming.  The officials missed a few calls, in fact they missed Lewis's travel on the very next play.

No way it should’ve been a technical on either player. I think it is clear goaltending after video, but I’ll give the refs a break with being a hard call to make live. Then we had coaching staffs exchanging words and maybe some shoving afterwards. This game had it all!

Boyd fouled him going for a steal.  That was it, he didn't initiate anything else.  Lewis shoved him after the play was over and the technical was deserved.

Boyd definitely participated in after the whistle foul. Maybe we weren’t watching the same game.

More likely, one of you is a fan of one of the team, and one was simply watching the game.  Easy to tell which is which.

24Rocks wouldn’t admit a foul on DCA if they hit him in the face….js

It’s on the rim. That is indeed goaltending.

What part of “Boyd fouled hI'm going for a steal.” did you not comprehend?

Boyd leaned on him a good 5 seconds after the whistle and Lewis did a "get off of me" shove. Not aggressive at all. It was a bad call at the time of game. Didn't make a huge difference though because Somerset took back control of the game a few possessions later.

Didn’t make a difference?
Lost possession and gave the other team 2 points… The refs call maybe 1 foul a quarter, yea it was a soft call in a crucial part of game.

Yes, it made a difference. What I meant was it didn't ultimately cost them the game

Poor whistle for Somerset in crucial moments.  Still had opportunities to win the game, but call a Spade a Spade.  Tech was bogus, Boyd is laying on him after the play what is Lewis supposed to do?  And, when the ball is on the rim its a Goaltend.  The 9th Region refs never call two hands on the dribbler either.  That plays big advantage for DCA perimeter aggression.

For those curious about 12th Region enrollments, this was from the 2023-24 school year. Pulaski County is actually just the fourth largest in the region behind three schools that haven't had near as much success as the Maroons. Enrollment matters but program building is most important.

  1. West Jessamine - 1,355
  2. East Jessamine - 1,222
  3. Southwestern - 1,220
  4. Pulaski County - 1,183
  5. Lincoln County - 927
  6. Wayne County - 924
  7. Boyle County - 889
  8. Rockcastle County - 827
  9. Garrard County - 787
  10. Mercer County - 757
  11. McCreary Central - 736
  12. Casey County - 618
  13. Somerset - 528
  14. Danville - 495
  15. Burgin - 145
  16. Somerset Christian - 87
  17. Danville Christian - 78
  18. Trinity Christian - 75
  19. Kentucky School f/t Deaf - 27

Good stuff!  I did not realize that Garrard was bigger than Mercer and that East had such a large enrollment.

I comprehend plenty… you come on these forums with your time stamps, blurry pics and snarky comments anytime someone mentions a missed call against DCA or a ridiculously assessed technical foul to their opponents.  There have been one too many games where the momentum has changed in DCA’s favor due to a call that should’ve been made against them. We all saw what happened at Lexington Catholic when the call went the right way and resulted in a DCA loss. Miss me with your nonsense.
