Scott was a strange team last year. New to the 10th Region, they played a lot of 9th region teams during the regular season. Won 9 straight early in the year, then lost 8 straight, then probably played their best ball at tournament time. Beat Campbell County by 2 in the 37th, lost by 2 to Brossart in the district final, then lost by 2 to Clark County in the first round of the regional tournament. Again, I wouldn't want to face Brossart or Scott in the first round of the regional tournament - assuming they're the two teams from the 37th that make it. Doesn't always work out that way; as the occasional Bracken County poster will remind everyone.

Maybe we need to start a new thread on the 10th region tourney - and I'm of course interested to hear more details as to just how Mason County - the team that for some reason an awful lot of folks love to hate - rigs the draw.

When's the 10th region draw Papa??

When someone finds out the pairings...PLEASE POST:ylsuper:

This is a great draw for the 15th and 16th because we can play each other so both regions have a chance of actually winning a game... I know that paintsville has had some good teams in the past that have made some noise... but lets face it lately we in the 16th and the folks in the 15th have not been well respected when it comes to the other regions... we have been looked at as the draw that everybody wants to get

The 15th and 16th is getting better but the last few years when you draw the best in Louisville or top 5 in the state ??? Hard to play !! But with those draws it would be hard for most .........

The 16th Region's first-round opponents the last three years ... Graves County, University Heights, Perry Central. None of those teams were in anybody's top five.

The 15th Region met up with Caverna in 2004 ... they weren't a top-five team either.

Bottom line ... the 15th and 16th just haven't been very strong.

Caverna not a top five but top 20 ..... 2006 Johnson Central vs J-Town the winner of the state and Russel VS Good Graves Co. that was semifinals and if you was there was great team and great game with the big center ... 2005 Shelby Valley vs Henry Clay and Rowan vs UAH that was semifinals ...... 2003 Shelby Valley vs Ballard ect.. / True 15th and 16 has been down but getting better and in those years not has bad has you would think ....

Caverna not a top five but top 20
You said "top five and best of Louisville" ... Caverna was neither.

2006 Johnson Central vs J-Town the winner of the state
I didn't mention Jeffersontown.

Russel VS Good Graves Co. that was semifinals and if you was there was great team and great game with the big center
I'm very familiar with Graves County. Yes, the Eagles made it to the semifinals after a big upset of South Laurel. No one considered Graves a top-five team going into the Sweet 16, and I don't know anyone unconnected to Graves' program that saw the upset occurring.

2005 Shelby Valley vs Henry Clay
I didn't mention Henry Clay.

Rowan vs UAH that was semifinals
University Heights was in a rather easy part of the bracket, with Rowan County, Corbin and Lone Oak ... no top-fives there.

2003 Shelby Valley vs Ballard
I didn't mention Ballard, either.

When was the last time either region sent a team that was a viable contender for a state title? They are two of the weaker regions in the state ... period.

I could pick two other regions that has been weak with what your saying .....

I probably could, too ... but I don't know that anyone is making excuses for them, either.
I have absolutely heard everything now.

Next thing we now Mason County will be spiking the water that is supplied to other teams.

That could explain what happened to Brossart the night they played Mason. They looked like they had been spiked all night.:D
