I generally don't get too crazy in extra-cirricular reading but I've been on a tear for a few months in addition to reinstalling the Libby app on my phone and actually making a point to have the presence of mind to turn on audio books while I'm doing tasks that allow my mental focus to stick to the audio book.

I'm almost 100% nonfiction with my reading...which I realize bores a lot of folks.

I've had this book in my luggage for probably 5 years now and read 60-75% of the way through it on trips about a half dozen times or so, but finally finished the whole thing. Super interesting book.

You talk about an eye opener in regards to the opioid epidemic created by the Sackler family and Purdue Pharma. Great read that will get your blood boiling. "the least of us" continues the true story of the opioid epidemic.

I'm reading "Devil in the White City" by Erik Larson. Very entertaining.

 

I read a book by Dr. Alvin C. Poweleit that was written in journal form from the journal he kept from his time in basic training through the Bataan death march and his captivity in the Phillipines by the Japanese. He autographed it for my Grandpa (WW2 pacific vet) "To Bill, the way it really was". He ended having a practice in Covington and lived in Newport.
