Statsdontlie Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 How did Peyton Smith make it over Demauriah Brown, Kalen Washington and Zac MCcourt? Stats don't lie!! 1
Wildcat1993 Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 This has to be who’s recruited the most no way this is based off production.
Voice of Reason Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 I like how they did this team - just listing the top seniors and not limiting themselves to the top 2 or 3 at each position. 1

The HL has done a "Class Of The Commonwealth" for quite a few years now, and personally I think doing things that way ends up putting out an overall better product than trying to come up with first team and second team players for a position-by-position "all-state team." 1
Bengal Boy Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Only 4 young men from NKY on this list. Who chooses these awards? A bunch of talking head reporters who probably never played a game of football in their lives.
theguru Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I have never been a big fan of the Herald Leader's way of doing things. It is such an easy way out, it is not a real team, and one person could come up with the whole thing in an hour or two. No thank you. However, congrats to all the fine players that made the Class of the Commonwealth! 1
#RockNation Posted January 3 Posted January 3 How does Hilbert not make this list?!?!?!?! He's a top 10 kicker in the country!!!
James Graham Posted January 3 Posted January 3 There is no single way to do these awards that is going to make everyone happy. CJ publishes the number of coaches voting for its all state teams... its usually around 40% of coaches in any particular sport. The ballots are emailed mind you... 1

Astro Domino Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Undefeated, Record-Setting, State Champion, Paducah Tilghman QB Jack James wasn’t even mentioned. And that’s with at least 8 QBs being listed. With that being said, there’s always going to be some way to pick apart a list like this.
