Frederick Douglass coaching situation

Featured Replies

Just seen FD head coaching is stepping away he has some health issues.  Prayers to Nate McPeek!

He’s going to be good and then some! Nate was having an operation on his neck/some vertabrae today to, Good Lord willing, relieve him of pain it’s caused the last couple of years.

Praying for him.

I know Coach McPeek and they will have a plan in place to make sure things continue to run like a well-oiled machine in his absence. Props to him for prioritizing his health.

Prayers to Coach McPeek for a speedy recovery.  There is next to no coach that does more to help his kids get recruited and to the next level than Coach McPeek.  I was always impressed when I would show up with my oldest son at an offseason college prospect camp or a combine like Best of the Midwest and there he was with his players and he did that A LOT.

Is he stepping down from coaching or just taking some time away to get himself healthy?

He isn’t stepping down from coaching is my understanding. He is having surgery and just won’t be around for a period of time.

Ok good deal.  I was worried he was going to be stepping away which would be a massive loss for KY High School Football.

I talked with coach yesterday his surgery was successful and is home. He is in a good bit of pain but is upbeat and looking forward to getting back to the day-to-day activities of Bronco football.
