The QB did. While that provided a little extra motivation for the Tigers, honestly, what he said in the handshake line after the game was worse. Not very Mr. Football-like. Punches thrown (not by the QB) on the last play and not flagged left a bad taste as well. Be better O Cath.

I also heard their fans ran their mouths to our coaches after the game. I’m sure you know what our coaches said back to them. lol it’s an awesome comment! 

 

For a team who has never won a state title in their life they sure in hell was cocky as heck! I’m glad the Tigers humbled them!

Congrats Tigers - year after year just a dominant program.  Congrats Aces - quite a 2-year run.  Atwell a man at QB.  Defense was a weakness this year and Beechwood exposed it.  They could have scored any way they wanted with the QB/RB/WR’s.  Dominating O-line play.  tigers did enough to stop a few drives of OCath and were unstoppable on Offense.  I’m guess Catholic is down next year somewhat, so I doubt a championship game appearance.  If it makes Beechwood feel any better, “I believe they are a track team” is a huge compliment - not sure how it was said, but I would wear it as a badge of honor. 

I have heard the “speed team/track team” year after year that about Owensboro Senior high teams - “they big played us”, “the fields in bad condition from the rain and I’m glad it will slow them down”.  My thoughts to that are if you can’t stop the big play - we are going to big play you.

I have seen this from Catholic over the last several years. Just like I have seen from OHS too. Kids are doing what they want and coaches have zero discipline because we are winning.

I don't think Catholic will be down. If we don't hire a good coach we will lose kids again to Catholic. We have fed them some really good players to Catholic the last couple years. The Carrothers kid will be the best QB in town next year. Who will our QB be? 

OC always a bridesmaid, never the bride.  Maybe OC could play Raceland, and then one of them would win a State Title. So glad, Beechwood, laid the "wood" to them.

you have Ty Ashley!!!  He is a great ball player.  The Aces have 22 juniors returning and the 30 freshmen that won a middle school state championship will be sophomores.  I think they will be ok.  I heard the incoming freshman class next year has over 20 players also.

 

Also, I am hearing one sided on trash talk and so forth.  If anyone thinks that there is not from both teams, then they are naïve.  It happens every game.  Congrats to the tigers on a great game.  Hopefully we can be in the same position next year.

Ty Ashley who I believe already has an offer from EKU and maybe Louisville (not sure about that one).  6-3ish….He’s a really good QB - Dad Buster was All state at OHS and was All-American and All-century team at WKU as an O-lineman.  Ty as a sophomore led our team in tackles.  He’s a boss - I expect OHS to be better next year.
