OHS kids won’t follow him. I know my son won’t. We have to much invested here and Owensboro is the best program in town. 
 

I will tell you this. The one school that is getting ready to wake up (sleeping giant) is Apollo. They have a bunch of kids coming back on both sides of the ball. They have a huge line now and Max Johnson looks very athletic. Their football team improved. Their basketball team has list only 1 game might win their district and their baseball team is going to be very good. 
 

DC is on a dip in talent. I just don’t see everyone leaving ohs to go to DC. 

My goal is to get this to 26 pages before OHS hires.

The talent at DC will always fluctuate, however a year ago the had the chance to keep the progress of the program going by hiring then D Coordinator. The administration instead decided to hire outside which halted everything the previous staff had built. They’re another bad hire from being a absolute dumpster fire.

If the Daviess county job is open, it does make things very interesting with the Owensboro hire.

1. Owensboro OC will barnes has very strong ties to Daviess county. Is that a job he’d be interested?

2. Ganaway? Where I don’t know that his resume fits Owensboro standards he’s a homerun hire for Daviess.

3. Rector, he has no ties to either school just the city. If Owensboro drags their feet could he have interest in Daviess.

4. Is Q Wallace interested in a return to Daviess county as the head coach?

Here’s something interesting that I found out was Rector actually has started his coaching career at Daviess Co. Does this career come full circle?

That is very interesting, I think if he were offered both he’d obviously take the Owensboro job. From the stand point of a parent with who has been mentioned, what would be your ideal hire?

Who do you know for sure that has applied?

I don’t know for 100% certainty of anyone. I’m asking of the names of possible candidates that’s been thrown around on here who would you want your son to play for?

Either Rector, Edge or Morris. Call them. 
 

Rector has a championship and is an obvious winner. Got kids in college and had a few kids play in NFL. This is what we need here in Owensboro. 
 

Edge has been to 3 championships as a HC and a few when he was an asst at Owensboro. He also can get players in college. One thing I thought Jay Fallin did a great job with. Edge took kids with way less talent and got some , who I didn’t think should, get D1 offers. 
 

Morris might be the hottest of the three. Coming off 2 state championship appearances and beating us 3 years in row. Not sure if it was him or Fallin that got Crowe his offer to Illinois State.

You think it will be Barnes? From my understanding Rector has applied, and I hope they know he is more qualified then any current staff member.

As other people have said I’m confused why Rector isn’t a good candidate, because of losing seasons, but Edge isn’t penalized for his losing seasons at South Spencer and Apollo?? Why Gannaway isn’t penalized for his losing seasons?? I personally wouldn’t choose either. I think for this hire OHS needs a coach who has won a ring. Let the young coaches learn under someone who’s succeeded at the highest level. (Of course they can’t hire someone of that caliber unless they apply.) Anyway, IMO, the biggest reason kids have left Owensboro recently is the offense’s inability to spread the ball around. I also think that’s what has upset OHS fans the most. Mayfield(scrimmage), Bowling Green, Boyle Co.(scrimmage) and Catholic have all run an imaginative offense against us while we look like the 1985 Owensboro Red Devils on offense. Run right. Run left. Play action pass on 3rd and 6 under heavy pressure from the blitz. I know of several kids relocating to Owensboro, or leaving other area schools, that had no desire to be on Frederica Street due to the offensive philosophy. Red Devil QB’s for the last 50 years have been more game managers outside of the year the kid transferred from Catholic High. No reason there shouldn’t be a 3,000 yard passer at OHS every year. Does anybody know what offense Rector ran in the past or how he’s been at developing QB’s??

To my knowledge he runs the Tony Franklin system.

If that’s true I think players, and fans, would be happy with that offense. You can fling it around and still have a solid rushing attack.

If you want this offense I feel like Barnes would be great, He knows the Franklin system as good as any! He played in it and coached it!

The problem is he doesn’t run it he’s Owensboro OC right now.
