Here you are, a game for every day this week today through Monday (with the exception of Wednesday) featuring some of the best the 12th region has to offer. It is great to have basketball finally here.

Monday, December 2nd - Scott County at East Jessamine or Somerset at Mercer County. 

Tuesday, December 3rd - Danville Christian at Woodford County or Lincoln County at Lafayette or Madison Central at Pulaski County

Wednesday, December 4th - no action

Thursday, December 5th - Somerset at Berea

Friday, December 6th - Pulaski County at West Jessamine (A ton of games this night but this game stands tallest among them.)

Saturday, December 7th - Jeffersontown at Pulaski or North Hardin vs. DCA

We will be back after Saturday to break down all the action and preview week 2.

Based off the pre season it seems Somerset has surprised some people. There football guys have just now entered the equation, but I’m looking forward to see how they measure up with Mercer to start the year.

I wouldn't expect the football guys to play tonight.  They will probably come into the later games this week @ Berea and vs. Danville.  This is similar situation to what Boyle Co. deals with annually.

Ironically, Boyle didn't schedule that way this year and it ended up not mattering. But you're right, while the Rebels only have a game with Burgin during the first week this year, in recent years they've played solid teams like Adair County and Spencer County, which I always thought was a good way to put pressure on some inexperienced JV kids. You might not win the game but you're better for it in the long run. It will be the same with Somerset.

How many starters/contributors play football?

Bartley at 2.2 pts and 3.7 rebounds last year.  Lewis at 5 pts and 1.7 rebounds.  Bruner at 1.8 pts and 2.7 rebounds.  I may be missing someone.  

They don't contribute that many points or rebounds but they'll help on defense and they know the system.  

Is there any chance the Somerset/Mercer game will be streamed?

And Bruner probably would have contributed more had it not been for his season ending injury last year.  With the losses to graduation, I'd expect him to fill a vital role this season.

That’s a good point.  He’s a good athlete so he should be able to contribute this year.  

Any updates on Somerset/Mercer?

Mercer up 20-10 on Somerset at the end of 1. Mercer looking good.@24Rocks

Somerset played better that quarter. 30-25 Mercer at the half.

51-37 final. Mercer gets the win.

12 points in the second half for Somerset?  What happened? Did Mercer change defenses, tighten up, or did Somerset just go cold?
