How is that any better than saying an eleven point win against a hot NewCath team isn't impressive?

And I only said a point differential because you acted as if Brossart didn't play well and it was a bad performance by them... Have you even seen Brossart play this year? Obviously you didn't know their schedule and was wrong about that, and you were wrong about LexCath missing a starter,so you haven't hit too many home runs in this thread...

I got a report on the game that the game was NCC's for the taking. I have seen Brossart play. I thought Novasel was out for the Brossart game and I was wrong. I was not wrong about their schedule. I admitted that their schedule was probably harder than most single A schools. I have yet to hear a good argument that they deserve to be considered a top 20 team. I have yet to have someone convince me they have a quality win on their schedule. You talk about my lack of home runs and you come back with "they beat NCC by more than CovCath did". Henry Clay is 12-10 and not in the top 20, they lost to 6-10 Pendleton County, they beat 5-13 Highlands, St. Henry is 13-7, NCC is 10-9, Holy Cross is 8-7, two of their wins are against Silver Grove who just lost to Beechwood. Brossart may be a top 20 team and they might just go to Park Hills at the end of the year and put an absolute whooping on CovCath. Does that put Brossart in the top 20 or CovCath out. I don't know, but based on who Brossart has lost to and who they have beaten, I don't see them as a top 20 team. Did I connect on any of those facts?

I was reacting to the following post "I was looking for Bishop Brossart also... surprised they arent up near 20!" made by U Reach I Teach. I made a mistake saying they had one of the easiest schedules in the state and later recanted it saying I meant to say easiest schedules of teams ranked in the state. The argument was whether or not they were a top 20 team. I say they are not. From your lack of argument to the contrary, I assume you agree or are just thinking they are because you are a Brossart fan, but have no facts to back up a top 20 ranking. I'm done.

I think Brossart, when healthy, is a borderline top-20 team. I would put them in the top 30, but there are a lot of candidates for the last couple of top-20 spots.

I partially agree with both of you. But I think even though rankings are just opinions, if there are no facts to back up your opinion, you might as well pick teams out of a hat.

BTW, not all teams voted on are listed. In the "others receiving votes," in both the boys' and girls' polls, only teams with multiple votes are included. I know this because I voted Clark County 10th, and they are not listed.

The schedule is what I went on, especially the win over South Laurel. Unfortunately, I think the two losses last weekend hurt them state-wide, especially the score of the Scott County game. I still think they're top 10.

I agree on last weekends games hurting us. What has impressed me about the Cards this year is the wins they had without Jones and Stenzel just coming back from being hurt in the South Laurel game. Jones is still not 100% If we can get everyone healthy by post season...people better watch out for the Cards.

I don't think any 16th region team should be brought up in a discussion of the top teams in the state.

 

 

According to ADI's today edition, Elliott County is # 20 in the state. Whether this is true or not, I don't know. Maybe I missed something?

While Brossart doesn't have one single victory that says that they are a top 20 team, I think that they've beaten a handful of very good teams. With wins against Gallatin County, Scott, NewCath, UHA, Henry Clay, Cin. Oak Hills, Clinton County, and Bardstown, and having a record of 21-3, and only losing to one team, while it being to a bad team, outside of the top 15 in the state. They competed with LexCath down to the wire at LexCath which is a tough place to pull out a W. They have played two very bad games against Mason County and Pendleton County, but I believe both of those are abberations, and I think Brossart will prove that the next time they play Mason. Winning "A" doesn't scream top 20 team, but IMO the way they did does. Beating four very quality opponents without one of their starters who is the main source of rebounds shows that this is a tough team who IMO, is right around the Top 15 or 20 in state...

Last Monday the Cantrall rankings in the Lex. paper had Elliott County 20th in the state. After being beat by Paintsville, they have dropped to 24th this Monday.
