That game was week 11. Every team in the state has guys injured and sick at that time of the year. The Tigers have 100+ players to choose from. Next man up. No excuses. 

I'm expecting this to be one of the best games in KY this Friday night. Anything other than a close final score will surprise me. Two solid teams locking horns. Home field  advantage will help the Raiders.

If anyone wants to watch the first meeting this year between X and Ryle, here it is.  I think the most of the first quarter is missing but it is 0-0 when the action starts.

 

Looking at PRP as common opponent. St. X was up 42-0 at halftime against PRP and Ryle was only up 18-0 on PRP at halftime. I think St. X has the better offense and Ryle will need to get some turnovers to win so I'll go with St. X winning by 7.

Ryle's offense was off to a super slow and sloppy start against PRP.  Raiders have to come out of the gate ready.  If I remember correctly Lorms nor Lyons played in the regular season game against St. X.

I think each team has 2 key players back for the rematch - Lorms and Lyons for Ryle, and Gray (and TP94 said a LB, too, for X). Ryle was sloppy in the 1Q against PRP with an interception and fumble in the red zone on two 1Q possessions. Obviously, that won't get the job done vs a good team like St X. Give me the Raiders by 3 on a late FG.

The LB Ben Pinkston that came back against Simon Kenton played in the Ryle game. He missed the Meade Co., PRP, and Bowling Green games. DB Rocco Poynter who had interception in Ryle game was hurt in PRP game and hasn't played since that game but I don't know his status but I would guess he will still be out. DB Jamari Carroll has played in his place and he is talented and has speed but only a sophomore and inexperienced.

Looks like mostly cloudy, 50 degrees, no wind to speak of, and dry.  In other words, perfect weather for high school football.

Poynter is likely out for the year. X didn't close Ryle out last time  because it can't the  run the ball consistently. Its a baffling problem given the available talent pool.

I think X's success in ground game on Offense will determine the outcome.
