I guess I am "You all" here but I mostly agree with you, play a tougher schedule Owensboro Catholic.

With that said, OC played a little girl's schedule last year too and nearly won 2A.  Additionally, they have an amazing high school QB and if he is healthy look out.

If Catholic played Mayfield playoff schedule of LCA, Beechwood, then Mayfield. Do they win?

I'm going to do a pickem contest starting in the 2nd round of playoffs between the TP94, Calpreps, and Massey ratings and see which system picks the most winners. I think it will be an interesting com

  • Right, a month ago Calpreps was dead, but now we are back on the bandwagon, lol.

  • After watching the SW vs BG game and seeing how BG struggled with SW’s QB, I do feel like Atwell would give the Purples even more problems. But the Aces defense can’t slow down the Purples offense IMO

Mayfield did something similar last year, but who knows.

Yes Catholics schedule is somewhat weak, but if I’m not mistaken beechwood has only played three teams with winning records and one of them is this Friday!!  So it could be said their schedule is pretty weak also!

It didn't hurt Catholic last year.

On Beechwood, they played Pulaski, Campbell, Dixie, Simon Kenton, and CovCath.  That is not weak for a 2A school.

Ok but Catholic played, Apollo’s they have been down, Dc, beat catholic 2 yrs ago, greenwood, Henderson, Owensboro, and north Hardin still.

True. Outside of playing South Warren and BG idk who else they can play in western KY to strengthen their schedule. They scrimmaged PT and usually meet Mayfield in the playoffs.

Isn't Massey the same as Cal preps?

They’ve had this schedule of city teams for years. Last year was their first time winning the city outright since 2016 according to KHSAA.

Let’s be honest, Greenwood has been down 2 years. Henderson is nowhere near they were 2 years ago. City teams are way down. Owensboro could potentially lose their next two games vs Madisonville and Henderson.

That’s a good time to play BG. They will be down.

Bowling Green would have to play real bad for OCath to be in the game.  If BG and OCath played their best, I believe it’s BG 49-21.  The 2 teams are not close to each other.  OCath struggled to beat a mediocre Owensboro team 2 years in a row, and I do believe they are stout, but 2A is not a given for them if someone has an answer for Atwell.  If BG played I believe they would give Atwell all kinds of trouble.  They lost a huge player in Tutt Carrico from last year….that is going to.catch up to them in the semis or final potentially.  Mayfield is way down so it seems like a a 3-horse race with the Tigers and LCA - all of those seem somewhat down for them though.

Is it possible many of you are over ranking Bowling Green? I don't think they are even the favorite to win 5A.

Beechwood and Owensboro Catholic have a very similar SOS.

Yeah but can you predict the future when they make out contracts. If you Can you need to be somewhere else other than here!!
