Central Hardin hosts a 7-1 Barren County team that took care of business last week vs Warren Central 43-0. Barren County is led by QB Tate Spillman who has thrown for 644 yards and rushed for another 339. The leading rushers include Jordan Harris (414 yards), Daylan Thomas (345 yards), and leading receiver Jaxson Byrd (316 yards). Barren County is averaging 32 points a game and limiting opponents to 14 points a game. 

With Central Hardin's lethargic offense, I don't see anyway Central Hardin can score more than 32 points to beat the Trojans. Looks like back -to- back defeats to a Trojan team that has been a guaranteed win in previous seasons for the Bruins. 

My prediction: Barren County 42 Central Hardin 7

One of the better Barren County teams I’ve seen in my lifetime, the defense can be susceptible to some points though, unsure about the Central Hardin team but an explosive play here or there is bound to happen. What impresses me the most about this Trojans team is SR QB Tate Spillman who has been at the helm for a few years now but his transition to running this offense has been tremendous, a very damn good football player. I’m anxious to see if they are able to make some noise this November, their style of play sets up rather well for the inclement weather, very interesting team, their game against Allen County next week should tell a lot.

Man, people were posting that Barren wasn't for real, and will lose 2nd round... they look like they will make it to the 3rd round!

I think this game might be closer than some think. Barren has looked really good against bad to average competition. Central has looked really bad against really good competition. I'll still take the Trojans but I think this game might have as much to do with how much heart Central will play with. 

I see what you are implying, hypothetically if the Trojans played the Bruins schedule, I don’t think they’d be better than 3-5 right now. Then on the flip side I see Central Hardin being no worse than 5-3 dealing with the Barren County route that has them sitting at 7-1. @5thregionbasketball Do you have a score prediction in this one, curious to how close you think it could be? 

Calpreps has it 34-14 in favor of Barren County. That feels about right, although I could see it a little tighter.

Central Hardin offense is a mess. I would be shocked if they score 14 points on Barren County. They average 11 points a game while giving up an average of 37 points a game. Their defensive secondary is also a mess. This is easily the worst Central Hardin team I have witnessed since I started following the team in 2010.

I'd go 28-14 probably in favor of Barren.

I'm hearing that Central's QB may have been found to be ineligible to play. Something to do with his transfer. Any truth to this?

 

Haven't heard anything about this but I can find out. 

No truth at all to it.  He played baseball last spring at CHHS 

@Hardin County Preps you mentioned the offense has been a mess all year, would a change at QB possibly give that side of the ball a spark or have they already tried that?

Different sport. All depends on when his Varsity time started for baseball and football at his previous school.
