South Warren Spartans (5A #4) | Bowling Green Purples (5A #1)

? Top Ranked Purples Formulate Their Defense With Enemy At The Gate

• It's been a long year since South was given the hook at home. The embers are still smoldering from that night, putting off just enough heat to keep us warm until it's time to throw another log on the fire. ? ? ?
• The game carries with it Mr. Football implications, as two of the state's best quarterbacks face off. Bailey (356 passing yards/3 TDs) and Button (337 total yards/4 TDs) were marvelous in this game a year ago. Is it too much to ask for them to live up to their collective billing again?

Bowling Green is 4-3 when ranked higher than South Warren | This is only the second time they've met with one or the other ranked #1 | The Spartans won that meeting in 2020

Bailey and Button will complete their share of balls, but I like BG's run after catch potential more. I think that's a deciding factor in a Purples win.

It's a shame for SW that Ethan Reynolds isn't suiting up this year and Easton Jointer bolted for Tennessee. The presence of those two would add a thick layer of intrigue.
