The way things are going at Beechwood I am not sure there are going to be anymore state championships in 2A.  They better win it this year...

Guru, what are you thinking?

I am thinking Beechwood doesn't play defense anymore.

Moving up in class means no more state championships and I think the district gets bigger next year, ugh.

I think Carroll Co. moves up to 3A and St. Henry replaces them keeping it a 6 team district (geography driven I guess).  Mayfield gets a 6th team added in their district.

With RPI (and hopefully better in the future) there is zero need for any districts, conferences, or mandates.

In theory, yes. In reality, without some type of geographical alignment, scheduling will become very difficult for some schools. I understand the desire to only have competitive games, but the gap between the "haves" and "have-nots" is very wide, and there are a lot more of the "have nots". Let's also not forget about financial considerations...the weaker teams are still going to get drilled, and with no affiliation, will likely be forced to travel longer distances to take their beatings which will stress already stretched budgets. Bad matchups have always existed at the high school level, and still even happen regularly at the college level.

I don't see it that way, if anything it will be tougher for the good teams and they will have to travel.  In the case of Gallatin, there are several teams in NKY that are not currently on their schedule that would be competitive.

I could not agree more.  That’s what makes is so concerning …. can you improve your D when the last 5 weeks and first couple playoff rounds can deceive and camouflage your issues?

We won't know about that till probably the state semifinals.

Luke Erdman played today for Beechwood. He scored two TD's.

Great to hear.  Did he play any D?

I know snake but Beechwood is mostly out of COVID bonus points and our defensive coordinator is not the same.

Offense only and punt return. Limited reps on offense also.

Has BW changed their overall Defensive schemes under Volker?  Thought he came with a rep as a defensive wizard.
