Why are people saying there were no punts or turnovers? When McPherson missed the field goal, was that not a turnover on downs?

No, for a turnover on downs, you have to go for it on 4th down and not convert.  You could try a field goal on 1st down and miss.  You wouldn't call that a turnover on downs.  It's just a missed field goal. 

Washington may simply be a good team and is not as bad of a loss as first thought. Washington over the last 3 weeks has only punted the ball one time total.
