I would disagree with that, I think they would beat Scott Co. by a bunch if they played.

MaxPreps bases their rankings on a points system. If Huntingdon hasn't reported some or most of their games then that is why they aren't ranked. MaxPreps is trying to do a good thing, but if coaches don't report their scores then it can't be very accurate. I doubt too that Moeller is the best team in the country, but comparing them to a school like Oak Hill isn't fair to any high school team that is allowed to compete for a state championship. I like how hoopsusa seperates the schools in their rankings.

They have one of the best sophmores in the nation, 6'6 G/F Danny McElroy.

I think McElroy is on Lasalle's Team. Moeller has Mcdowell Jr. and leading scorer and Pat Tabler's son Troy who is a 6'4 senior guard. Not sure about the rest of their team.

Oh ok, for some reason I had it in my mind he played for Moeller.

Moeller plays in the very tough GCL, which last year was ranked (by someone) as the top HS league in the nation for sports, The GCL is an Ohio powerhouse for football, swimming, baseball as well as basketball.

 

Moeller is always a team to challenge for a state title in Ohio, winning the title a couple of years ago. As I said before, as much as I love KY sports, Ohio is a different world, VERY strong programs over there. Moeller played in a tourney our in Arizona in December, and crushed some very good teams. They also crushed a very good LaSalle (GCL) team by like 30, which is unheard of in the GCL.

 

Again, top 20-30 I can see, top 10 would be pushing it, #1 there is no way. But again, there are a very talented team.

They beat St. X by 1 and Elder by 2. St. X is 13-3, Elder 13-1. They spent the week between Christmas and New Years in Arizona, but I don't think the competition was that spectacular. I think the only serious competition we'll see Big Moe play is maybe a state final with Lakewood St. Edwards.
