If you are 0-3 you should not be the top team.

Every team that Pikeville lost to would have beaten the rest of 1A and probably overwhelmingly with exception to 2-3 other teams, if that.

Some good games going on this week that could answer some questions about 1A. Pikeville playing Raceland could be one of those. Other interesting games to me are Newport Catholic versus Conner and Bethlehem versus Lloyd.

Newport Catholic and Sayre have impressed me so far. If Newport Catholic beats Conner similarly to how they have other opponents so far, I clearly believe they are in contention.

Maybe Campbellsville has argument for #1 at this point, but with the schedule Pikeville has played and for how they have been the past few seasons, their ranking is understandable.

I wish Campbellsville had played someone of high quality in the first three weeks. I think they are very good - I get similar vibes to the Russellville team in 2021, but beating Owen, Casey, and Metcalfe just aren't enough for me right now. Maybe we'll have a better feel after they go to Somerset in a couple weeks.

If the rest of 1A was up to par they wouldn't be but given the overall low level of play in 1A and the opponents Pikeville lost to, I think think they are the top team and it isn't close.

Got to admit up to this point, Pikeville has not played like the Pikeville that fans have been accustomed to by winning championships. But look at the brutal schedule that Pikeville is and has played for several seasons. Coaching staff will not shy away from much larger competition for a reason, and that reason is to be at Kroger Field in early November. Much respect to Raceland, but imo, the Panthers turn the corner this Friday evening at Ram Stadium with the W.

Imo, Pikeville is still #1 until someone beats them from 1A.

I agree with this statement. Pikeville has earned that right, as well as Raceland... Those two programs have run Class A football for a long time.. Here's something to keep in mind about Campbellsville's schedule. Three years ago, Metcalf County ran the clock on Campbellsville.. In 2018, Casey County was the only team to beat Campbellsville in the regular season.. Taylor County won't play and Green County won't play, and both of those games were at the beginning of the schedule every year.. It will all shake out in the end.. Good Luck to All this weekend..

Yes! It certainly shakes out. But…it sure is fun trying to figure it out in the meantime. As for CVille schedule, the kids have no control and the coaches have no control over opponents talent swings.. travel budgets also need considered.

NCC has always played larger local schools early. Will be interesting to see schedule next year.

Absolutely understand. Those opponents were good and will be good again; Campbellsville is good but may slip a bit in the future. Nothing you can do about it, it just stinks that all three of their opponents thus far are a little down compared to normal.

Any chance Campbellsville and Knox Central get together for a game? I’ve heard there open and only have 9 games.

Would be interesting, especially in light of Knox Central knocking off Somerset last weekend.

Yes it would. It’s also in light that South Laurel beat Knox Central the week before that.
