This is the area.

Helicopter has widened its path, speculation from someone watching this longer than me is that Helicopter may have been shot at.

Guy on video said earlier that a PA could be heard in the distance.

For those not watching the video, Trooper at roadblock now out of car with a long rifle in hand.

Sounds like it's going down north of the circled cemetery in earlier photo.

Possible that he's barricaded in abandoned house.

Directly north of him are several businesses, civilians and vehicles at several fuel stops.

I assume Troopers have any northerly egress blocked off.

I guess he wasn't there....

This guy is good.

The dogs would smell the dead body though.

That's if the other animals didn't first. Plenty of animals in that area that would help get rid of a dead body.

Heard KSP spokesman say that tracking was compromised by vigilantes going in the woods and inadvertently leaving false trails.

How many resources are being used on this and when will they throw in the towel?

A lot of resources still being used. No idea how long they keep banging away in the woods. There is a LOT of area to cover, most all of it remote and not easily accessible.

Would they ever "call off the search" in hopes that he shows himself, but really they are still very much in the area?

Maybe.

Olympic bomber ran off in woods and avoided capture for years. Not saying this guy is as organized as he was, but it's possible.

I think he's dead somewhere, maybe in the bottom of a sinkhole or cave and may never be found.

He could be. I wonder what it would take for them to officially call off the search without "proof" he's dead.
