A matchup of a couple of 2-0 teams, the Raiders coming off a game @ Barren County against the Greenwood Gators in a gritty 21-14 win. Dane Parsley had 15 tackles and 2 passing TD’s along with the game sealing rushing TD late in the 4Q. Special teams played a big role in the Warren East win, field position was never in the favor of the Gators outside of the lone turnover on the opening kickoff. For all that Parsley does on both sides of the ball, having a punter who can pin you inside of your redzone is very beneficial, especially for an offense that relies on explosive plays.

Barren County gets to travel down 68/80 this Friday to the Smurf turf after their game against Trigg County resulted in a 30-6 victory. The Trojans accumulated 337 yards on 27 carries as a unit, clearly the John Meyers Wing T offense is in full effect.

This should be a really good game, I was very impressed with how the Raiders handled the Greenwood OL and shutting down their offense completly. I expect a very similar approach for Warren East, putting Parsley as the Strong safety was very important to the success they had in providing the extra run support. Barren will have their toughest test yet in facing this Warren East offense, they can’t run the ball very well but they’ll take shots to expand the defense and try to hit the big play.

Warren East to win will need to continue playing aggressive defensively and the OL needs to continue to show improvement, will have to be able to run the ball as season progresses.

Barren County has to keep the chains moving early and often, cannot afford to get into a field possession battle with this team it will not end well. Parsley was 12/30 against the Gators and had some turnover worthy throws, the Trojans defense will need to capitalize on those opportunities.

I think WE is improved from last year but I think Barren Co is too give me the Trojans by 7.

I too think this sets up for a good game with an edge to the home team.

As TheBallCoach pointed out, Parsley's punts pinned Greenwood inside the 20 nearly every time. I believe two or three times inside the 5. One was a questionable as the defender appeared to carry the ball across the goal line before tossing it back.

I really like this WE team!  Barren is a good story too honestly. And impressed with their early season success. But I’ll take the Raiders at home by 1 score.
