Anthony White is a coaching star on the rise following 11 wins and a region final appearance a year ago, the most successful season yet in his overhaul of Atherton football. The return of RB MIchael Curry (1,124 yards/17 TDs) and ATH Quilshaun Baines (EKU offer), plus a host of other returning starters, instills belief that the Ravens may fly even a little higher this year. The addition of Wofo is a nice touch to this season's schedule and shows that Atherton is looking to challenge itself, rather than schedule Ws to pad the record.

That game at Woodford County will be one to keep an eye on for sure.

Win or lose, it's a good pickup. Atherton's program is clearly heading in the right direction. However, as with many JCPS schools, the schedule hasn't always been the strongest. Adding a game like Woodford County will only benefit the Ravens.

Atherton is getting a lot of talk and hype here around town after last season. I still have a kind of prove it again attitude before I can really say that they are a top 10 team but it is very possible. Either way just a remarkable story and turn around over there and a team that I am extremely excited to watch and cover this year!

They have a high potential. If their passing attack can get on par with their run game they will be a tough team to deal with. I expect to see them in top 10 by seasons end.

I think this shows Iroquois and Shawnee that it can be done it would be nice to see those guys have some success as well.

True in part (and I'd love to see all the Louisville public schools do well), but the demographics are very different, and Shawnee is quite small (only ~300 boys total). @Purple88 mentioned a couple years ago that Atherton was starting to get a lot of kids that either didn't get into Manual or would have went to Manual in the past. The Ravens are benefiting at this moment but not every school in JCPS has the same advantages.
