bugatti Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 We're about 10 days away from the draft. While it's an all-time horrendous draft class, it is intriguing for the UK guys, Bronny, and the annual watching of which poorly-run franchise will make an unnecessary trade.
bugatti Posted June 17, 2024 Author Posted June 17, 2024 I'm crossing my fingers Sheppard finds his way on the Spurs. He would be perfect. 1
bugatti Posted June 26, 2024 Author Posted June 26, 2024 We are hours from the draft and there are no indications of how this thing will unfold. Risachar, Sarr, and Sheppard appear to be locks for being near the top of the draft board. All three should be in the top five, at worst. I can't see Clingan dropping as he is one of the few players with a surefire skill set that will contribute at the next level. For the Dillingham fans, do not be shocked if he goes as high as six or as low as twenty.
Voice of Reason Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 I find the trades that usually riddle NBA draft night are distraction and deterent to me watching. I agree that Dillingham's place in this draft is a wild card.
Voice of Reason Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Who didn't get drafted in round 1? The player I was surprised about who has been projected in round 1 for two years that was not picked is Filipowski from Duke. I think my Celtics made a mistake taking Baylor Scheierman instead of Filipowski.
bugatti Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 Per Bob Myers, Rich Paul is telling teams not to draft Bronny James or he will head to Australia. Meaning, he best be there for the Lakers to draft at 55. I'm sorry it has come to this, Lakers fans. 1
bugatti Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 The Orlando Magic drafted Antonio Reeves at pick #47. But of course, this can't be easy, so in a trade, he is going to New Orleans. 1
16thBBall Fan Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Interesting that for the about the last 30 minutes of the draft on ESPN in their 10 best available had Justin Edwards as #1 of best available players but he was not one of the 58 taken.

Poor guy; I thought it was worth a flyer. I'm always for taking a chance on a guy highly rated out of high school. Sometimes it takes a year or two for it to click. At least his team can now be strategic when he signs as a free agent. 1
TheDeuce Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 What an embarrassment for a storied Lakers franchise. 2
16thBBall Fan Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Two free agents that made it in the league was VanFleet and Austin Reeves. I just heard on ESPN an interesting take. That the NBA should get with the NCAA and with the draft being a two-day event now that after the 1st round allow kids to pull their names if they choose before Round 2 of the draft especially now with the NIL money available. 1

Several undrafted guys make it in the league (most don't). Naz Reid, this year's 6th Man of the Year was undrafted. 1

I acknowledge he's a great player but I'm just not a fan. The longer he's been in the league, the less I've liked him, probably starting with "The Decision". Bronny to LA is exactly why Hurley went back to UConn. 1
16thBBall Fan Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Here is the last stat I guess on Cal and his tenure at Kentucky with the same amount of titles as Tubby.
