Have to feel bad for his son too.  He clearly needs some more seasoning in the college game and instead you are going to be drafted not by your ability but solely because your dad demands it.  Nepotism at its finest (which isn't unique of course to the NBA and pro sports).

If Bronny is on a roster, it'd be in a ceremonial role like Giannis's brother. Though, Thanasis came up through the ranks and has a shred of credibility. The last guy on a bench is still the last guy on a bench. When called upon, that individual is needed to come in and play NBA basketball. Bronny was the 7th guy on a bad college basketball team. Most 14th and 15th guys on an NBA roster would be having their way against college basketball competition.

But how much of this is LeBron's fault when he tries to play GM and make some moves and basically ends up gutting a roster around him?  This has been a pattern in his career where teams trade lots of assets to build something for LeBron.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  But there's a pattern in his career of going to teams and diminishing returns set in and then he bounces for greener pastures almost as if he is one of those aliens in Independence Day who suck up the resources of a planet before moving on to the next.

Lakers at this point should make LeBron a player/coach and just cut out the middleman.

It is no longer allowed by NBA rules, but I would be all for it.

This will be LeBron's 10th NBA coach going into his 22nd season.

The NBA could always change the rule again if they wanted to.  
 

That said I don’t expect LeBron to player/coach.

I agree. LeBron is made for LA and he loves the limelight. I expect LeBron to opt out, re-sign, and Bronny to find his way on the roster. This has been in the works for years.

Nah. They’re fine. The Mavericks and Jazz have both expressed interest in drafting Bronny.  The Lakers may be off the hook.

I've read a compelling article outlining that Dallas could be the perfect place for him if he wanted to chase another ring. I'm sure there are a few spots that even a 40 year old LeBron could help get over the hump for a title. Biggest question is, would he be willing to play for the veterans minimum to make a move possible.

If James truly wants another title, I think he should consider going to the Warriors. Allow the Warriors to move on from Green and his antics, and James basically fills Green's role of that point forward that Green has, but also would bring more scoring. I think the Warriors and Curry can make one more run at it, and adding James would be the missing piece for both James and the Warriors.

I believe this posturing of teams expressing interest in Bronny is doing so with the hope of spooking the Lakers into making a haphazard trade-up higher in the second round.

They have picks #17 and #55. The Pelicans can take their #17 pick; but, in a terrible draft, I am not sure they go that route. If I were a Lakers season ticket holder and they took Bronny at #17, I would sell my season tickets.

The smart play would be not to draft the kid and sign him to a free-agent G-League / two-way contract.
