Maybe his agent can get him into the mix with the Dallas Cowboys. Agents can be tough for high school administrators to deal with. I bet his agent just gets a flat fee for getting his name out for some jobs. If so, that guy is making some money.....:jump:

Bronger out at Fern Creek

Fern Creek is looking for a football coach to replace Bob Bronger, who went 10-12 in two seasons at the school.

The Tigers finished 8-4 in 2005, losing to Trinity in the second round of the Class 4-A playoffs, but dropped to 2-8 last season.

"I had wanted to coach one more year at Fern Creek and possibly retire from coaching after that," said Bronger, 53, who also has coached at Holy Cross, South Oldham and Valley. "But I was told they wanted to go in a different direction, and they've chosen to do that."

Bronger, who said he didn't know whether he'll coach again, added that the 2007 Tigers should be strong.

"It will be a senior-dominated team," he said. "It's one of those special groups. Whoever gets the job is going to be very, very pleased."

Fern Creek athletic director Tim Amshoff said the school is accepting applications.

Well, there you have it...looks as if that assistant will be getting a sniff.

It will probably be Curtis Higgins, but I was told recently that Joe Nichols applied as well.

Joe Nichols would be a much better hire than Higgins.

TigerKat, you must really have an inside track?!?!?

Yes, Tiger. Who else has applied? Or, does it even matter if Higgins will get it anyway.

I have also heard the same thing.

I would think Nichols would be the better fit.

^ That would be best for Manual as well.

Talked to Nichols today, he hasn't applied anywhere, he's been working on ordering new stuff for Manual.

Does this info come from one or the other green teams after Manual picks up a bunch of kids this year from the catholic leagues???

Everytime Nichols has a some talent come in from catholic leagues rumors start that he is leaving, just who is starting these rumors and what do they have to gain.

Tuition is getting so high that Catholics are having trouble affording the green schools. Must turn to what many perceive to be the next best alternative

The "Catholic leagues" have more than enough talent to go around. Ya gotta know what to do with those "Catholic league" kids though. I wish Joe only the best whatever he does....great guy.

P.S

X and T did pretty good in the "Public league" this year:thumb:

 . . . . Believe me, I don't care if he gets a 100 kids from the Catholic schools...he gets in Manual's way come season's end.

Deny all you like, I've had 2 different Jeff Co assistant coaches call me this week and ask if Nichols had applied at Fern Creek. Both cited sources that came from a school on Poplar Level Rd.

^ Nobody denied anything you posted....and none of us really care....his record isn't all that glamorous against us anyway....for what it's worth...you ought to check your stats on some of the above posters...some of them are very, VERY familiar with the daily goings on at tke Creek.
