I'd be shocked if he lands another head coaching job in the near future.   I can see him being an assistant somewhere, but Vandy just never progressed under his tenure.

The ability of college athletics administrators to bid against themselves and cost their programs millions of dollars is staggering. Why are you extending a guy who wasn't going anywhere?

I don't think Stackhouse is a bad coach.  His players played hard but he found it tough to recruit consistently.  I think he just wasn't a good fit for Vandy, which already faces a lot of challenges in the SEC to begin with.

Vandy is just a tough job, but, I never felt that Stackhouse was the right man for that job.  Not sure who is.
