DragonFire Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 First ever trip to the state tournament for Butler County. I'm a Tim Riley guy, so I'll always pull for his team (unless they're playing Warren Central), but honestly, I was basically just as much for Butler County. I absolutely love that we have them and Magoffin County going for the first time in the long history of their schools. Love seeing these communities get to experience it! 4

I believe that this is the first time thar Spencer Co. has ever went to the State Tournament as well even when they were Taylorsville high school as well. 2
TheBallCoach Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 Wasn’t even a competitive throughout, the Bears are on a tear and look to be at their peak. A very tough draw with Evangel Christian to open up their State Championship debut. Best of luck Bears!
NLTanker1 Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 let's GO BEARS! To clarify, I went to Butler Co. before moving back to Louisville to attend Trinity. I hope the Bears and Shamrocks meet up at Rupp. 1
TheBarber Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 Game was never in doubt. Price with 36 I think.

Looking back through the records, Butler County was 0-6 in regional finals before winning last night. All six losses came in a ten year stretch (1954-63), which just had to be absolutely brutal for their kids and fans. 1954 lost to Central City 1956 lost to Central City 1957 lost to Hartford 1961 lost to Beaver Dam 1962 lost to Caneyville 1963 lost to Hancock County 1
