Lloyd Memorial 37 Dixie Heights 35 (OT) (34th District Championship)

Featured Replies

?? ? | Final at Villa Madonna per The Scoreboard.

Juggernauts win a squeaker in Villa Hills.

Lloyd (KY #26, R9 #4, 24-8)

Dixie (KY #63, R9 #9, 18-13)

For an OT game this is severely low scoring, defensive onslaught or an offensive implosion, I’d say both.

Lloyd held the ball for 6 straight minutes in the 4th Quarter and it almost backfired on them from what I heard.

I don’t know about almost back fired. Lloyd was never losing in the 4th quarter. It was always either tied or Lloyd was up two.

Well, Dixie had a ball in the air to win at the horn, so I'd say "almost backfired" is a fair description.

Lloyd took zero shots in the 4th Quarter.  Riveting from the Juggs. Insert eye-roll here.

Dixie refused to come out of the zone hence why the Juggs held the ball. Can't say I blame Coach Walker. The 3's weren't falling for Walker, Bresser or Collins so it wasn't like they were going to shoot them out of it.

Either way it is a soft move.

? about as soft as Dixie not coming out of the zone and matching up

This isn’t elementary school basketball. You do what it takes to win. And you don’t let the underdog dictate the style of play.

That’s ridiculous, but whatever it takes to win. Have to respect it.

That’s what I was thinking. “Hey, let’s switch out of the defense that’s literally keeping us in the game”

Agree. Just the same as I feel about Dixie staying in the zone. If it helps your team and is within the rules, good for you.

You can say the same about both teams. You can blame Lloyd for holding the ball but also blame Dixie for sitting back in the zone and allowing Lloyd to hold the ball.
