In case you were wondering JBS beat Riverside 81-39 tonight. JBS played every kid including 3 8th graders and a 7th grader. Also Clark Stepp was on the bench in street clothes watching the game which I thought was a class act by JBS.

 

Nothing wrong with that....Very classy move by the JBS coaching staff.

 

Any other teams not dress there star player when playing someone knees & toes below them ???

Sounds like you are a JBS fan, and don't get me wrong i'm not knocking JBS they have a fine team, and I think when they and breathitt meet that it is going to be a good game, by 2 good teams. I'm just saying that seems like breathitt this year is getting bad mouth because they are winning.

You are hearing the wrong thing. I'm not a JBS fan. I am a fan of the 14th region. Just because I said that was a classy move? Come on. Tell me that is not a classy move by the coach. Please name me another 14th region school that sits out there best player in a game. I'm not knocking Breathitt either. I just think JBS is the better overall team. That's it. IMO JBS will win the region. Them or Hazard. Breathitt should be one of the top 4 teams at the end. If they play either Hazard or JBS in the Regional tournament then I think they will lose against either one. I also expect it to be a good game between the 2 (JBS & Breathitt) but I'm going with JBS by 10. Again, I'm not a JBS fan, I am a fan of the 14th. I live a couple countys away from Knott so I do not have any ties to the team or anything like that. If Breathitt contains Stepp (which I dont think they'll be able to do), then JBS has 2 or 3 other players to step up & take over the scoring load. I just don't see Breathitt winning that game. :thumb:

Nice Big win for the Bobcats, Menifee really isnt a major competitor in their region or would be in the 14th eventhough a good Menifee team shows up every now and then. A "W" IS A "W" so imo the bobcats are happy. I dont understand beating any team any more than 35 but seems these blowouts happen more and more each day in the paper. I dont see the moral victory in that or a 50pt win is any difference to a team than 35 then pulling off the dogs completely except putting some other people/players in shame. Dont mean to pick on Breathitt because they dont do this very often in the past and always seem to be able to do it to teams. But a few teams around the region beat teams that arent able to compete or just happen to be down and they jumo on the oppurtunity to pounce even though it has been and prolly will be the only chance in a very long time, imo, thats not right , esp. if the team that is usally up doesnt make a 50 pt game out of it when they have the chance, but .... happens.

I bet you wont find a post where I have bad mouthed Breathitt because I agree that they do have a nice team. If you look at a previous post I said Breathitt is going through what JBS has in the past of people criticizing everything they do. I agree that Breathitt has a nice club and it will be a good game when they play JBS. I am a fan of JBS and other teams in the 14th and whoever goes out of here I will support at Rupp like I do every year.

This is a stupid point to argue but you can play any kid on your team in basketball that is in your school system. Perry Central just brought an 8th grader up that has helped the their team. In some sports like football you can not play high school if in the 8th grade or lower but you can basketball.

That is very true and JBS should do more of setting kids out in games that are not close. I agree with you...

Have you seen Breathitt players they are good, and the Hays boy has come alive he is one of the best powerforwards in the 14 region. I would say they do have the best big man in the region with 6-6 score from anywere Travis Smith. And you cant forget about shoot the lights out Justin Hollan. And then you have Nick Noble Which is a real good ball handler but ant the best shooter that have seen but any given night he can drop 10 on you. Then you have Aaron the bull Combs which is a alround good player and fugate which is one of the top Freshman in the 14 reigon. Than allen which is on real good defense players on that team. Many more good players Breathitt is loaded:walk:

Breathitt High School is grades 9 through 12, not 10 through 12.

 

And you can play kids under the 9th grade on a high school varsity team in the sport of basketball. We started a 6th grader on our girls varsity team in the '98-'99 season. South Laurel won the girl's state tournament with 8th grader Stacey Reed running the point. Richie Farmer saw minutes for Clay County in the state tournament when he was an 8th grader. Stephen Sizemore started for the Hazard Bulldogs as an 8th grader.

 

Breathitt may not play middle school kids on their varsity, but it would be by their choice. It is legal to do so.

Yeah, I'm still a little irked over that!:irked: They played both Stepp boys almost the entire game and didn't take them out until a minute or so left in the 4th......while winning by 51. Now that's not very classy imo.
