Breathitt started the game with the line-up like this: Fugate, Hayes, Noble, Hollan, and Smith. In the 4th quarter the line-up was like this: Fugate, Hollan, Richie, R. Allen, D. Allen. Half way through the 4th Steve put in everyone else. Don't have all the names but i know everyone got to play in the 4th. Going into the final frame Breathitt was ahead 82-41 I believe. Breathitt hit every shot it through up. Now you can chose either side and make a good point, but Breathitt just played their kids. They didn't intend on running up the score, everyone played. Is it Breathitt's fault that they couldn't miss, no. Is it Breathitts fault that even the J.V was hitting shots, no. So the opinion of running up the score is done, Breathitt is a classy program and its always getting the short end of the stick. We put this thread on here to congradulate a team for putting up 112 points. Not to beat them down for something they couldn't help. By the way Breathitt plays JBS in a few days so maybe we will see what team we have. Hopefully putting up a great game will husht he cridicts.

 

 

Yes, but you also brought up the fact that your team only beat Menifee by 4 (actually 7) the first meeting and 54 (actually 51) the second meeting without mentioning Menifee was down some players.

I think Rowan County Middle School has an opening in their schedule if Breathitt would like to come to Morehead and pound them into oblivion. I mean you guys obviously have a good team (18-1), but crushing a bad team that is even missing some of its best players doesn't prove anything. I would be ashamed that the JV team didn't play most of the game.

 

The JV did play alot during the game and the Freshman did to and they was a still scoring what are you supposed to do tell your team to quit scoring just stand around turn the ball over and let the other team score that ant how a coach teachs his team to play ball. And if a player gets in trouble in school or thay cant make the grades they dont need to be a playing basketball and if they really liked Basketball they would no better than to get in trouble.

I was at the game last night and i do know that menifee had just 1 starter out. It was their center. Now i do know that the hayes, smith, and hollon was took out midway thur the 3rd quarter and noble, and fugate was taken out after the qt. was over. It's ok for JBS to beat riverside 100pts but you let breathitt score a 100 and all you here is how bad that is. You don't go 18-1 and not be a good team. I can't wait to see the game between JBS and breathitt, it was the same thing against hazard after the first game. It was suppose to be a fluke. But after they beat hazard at hazard then something else started. It make's me sick to see how everyone is really to say something about a kid or kid's. This bunch went 4-23 last year and i do know that breathitt is playing i think 18 of the same teams that they played last year. So give these kids a chance and let them enjoy this and quit bad mouthing them. They didn't even make it out of the dist. last year and know there is talk that they r one of the favorite's to win the region so take a look at what you are saying.

Breathitt simply has quite a few young people, starting two freshmen. In fact at times there have been four freshmen on the floor at the same time. You have to let these young people play as much as you can if you are a smart coach...to get them ready for tournament play.

I'm hearing more like 3 starters were out AND lost one, possibly two, (conflicting reports) due to injury during the game last night. So you were at the game. Did 2 kids get hurt or was it 1?

One poster says Breathitt played starters most of the game and then when criticism starts another says they did not. Who knows? If Menifee did not have the big man then they played without much at all.

To make a long story short, Breathitt destroyed them regardless who they put on the floor. Scoring 112 points in any game is impressive, and if this was expected by so many people then why are you making so big of a deal out of it. I'm sorry but good for Breathitt. If everyone is going to jump all over them over this, I guess we can just go ahead and call them the "bad boys" of high school basketball. I hope Breathitt wins region just so everyone can cheer against us at RUPP. This team is really deep and young, so get ready because Breathitt will hang a few banners in the coliseum.
