January 21, 200719 yr ^ That's a stretch...there is NO denying the fact that they are in the longest Final Four drought in school history, and that is likely to be extended this season as well. Its a stretch to say that they have been Final Four contenders in 4 out of 9 seasons that Tubby has been at UK? I guess you didn't read my post correctly--They have made the Regional Finals (that would be the final 8) 3 times in addition to winning a Championship in 9 seasons. If you make the Final Eight you are IN FACT a contender for the Final Four. Period.
January 21, 200719 yr Let's see, Tubby has coached UK for 9 full seasons. In those 9 full seasons he has won a National Title and made 3 other Regional Finals. You said that UK should be a Final Four team or contender every 2-4 seasons. I would think that a Regional Finalist would have to be considered a Final Four contender so Tubby's teams have qualified 4 out of 9 times........... Well since you put it that way...I am sorry for my posts. I have weakened. You guys have got me on your side now. I can see clearly now, the slop is out of my eyes. I was wrong. UK basketball is as strong as ever. UK basketball is as feared as ever. UK basketball has a bright future, even this year. All this time I thought there was a decline when in fact we've been on a steady rise to the top. I'm tired now...I think I'll go wollow in some slop here in the pen. OINK! My comment was aimed at guys that were calling this years win at South Carolina, the win over Auburn or any win for that matter, a big win. My point is that fans of UK basketball have lowered their expectations IMO. I for one do not think that UK Basketball is what it used to be, that's all, exactly. Some one actually shows you some facts and thats what you come back with. Weak..... I don't recall seeing any posters say South Carolina was a big win for this program.
