Dumphord from 2 years ago is no comparsion to what he looked like this summer. Wayne could easily have won 6 or 8 more games last year if he plays. We will probably struggle a little early with 6 football players getting into baskeball shape but we still so young I personally think the next couple years after this could be very good.

Boyle and Somerset will affected by Football players arriving late more than anyone.  Boyle will likely go to state finals and Somerset is primed to go to State Semis.  Both teams have key players on their football teams.

I spoke with Seneca Driver the freshman from Boyle County and he told me he was 6'7 and still growing. 

Heard that Fugate, who transferred from Garrard to DCA, will be eligible this season. Big news for them and the 12th region!

I think that makes them the favorite, at least on paper. Success will depend on chemistry and players buying into their roles, and then staying out of foul trouble. Lack of depth is still a major issue for them.

I think Fugate and Imfeld are the same players. Spot up shooters and both not great defensively. Still a great get for DCA.

Not even close to the same players. Fugate is a slasher guard that can get down the lane and distribute. He definitely will make this team better. Very good on defense as well, not sure where you’re getting that.

DCA has a really good roster.  I don't think they have ever played in a region tournament.  Not saying it is impossible but it is hard to go from never making the region tourney to winning it.  The level of intensity in the region tournament can't be replicated in the regular season, AAU or any other venue. I think having players that have experience in it really matters unless you are just head and shoulders talent wise above everyone else which they may have that.

I definitely agree with this.  However, out of Lincoln, Danville and Garrard this year I would only give Lincoln a shot of clipping DCA or Boyle (And that will be a tall task for Lincoln this year).  It could have an impact if/when they make the regional tournament.

DCA has also never had two 7 footers and added guard presence on the perimeter.  To me, if they don't win it that's a big shortcoming.  Nobody else in the region has that kind of fire power.

Definitely agree with this. Like @LethalPG mentioned, they have the most talent and should be considered favorites. I also think @titan101 is exactly right, they really should have gotten out of district last year but lacked the game sense at that time to take down Botle County, who has the pedigree. The log jam of new bodies will take time to sort out for DCA but at the end of the day, it's a good problem for them to have.

I agree with you.  I think they have the best roster in the region.  Just a giant leap to go from never being able to make it out of district to winning region.  if they have this same roster for a few years I would feel better.  I would rather have dominant guards than bigs if trying to win region.  Usually the team with best guard play wins. DCA has some good guards so we will see what happens. DCA PG last year lead team in FG and 3pt attempts with splits of 35%/26% not going to win a region championship with that formula.

They have great size and look very imposing coming off the bus........but gameplay??? They couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. The newest one I haven't seen but the returning big kid is long, that's all the good I can say regarding talent. Although he may have improved a bunch since last year.....

It'll be fascinating to see.  Maybe someone knows, but not sure if twin towers have ever graced this region.  I'm just referring to their roster.  I will say adding Shawn Conley to the bench will be an upgrade for them.
