After the HS level, you will not hear me complain about running up the score...
January 20, 200719 yr I have nothing against a team shooting the ball at the end of the game even if they are up alot. I just dont think starters should still be in at the end of the game like that, but I mean if the coach is going to keep them in then they still need to play basketball and shooting and scoring is a part of basketball...

January 20, 200719 yr You can't knock Paulus' work ethic but overall I hope Duke has an incoming PG for next season or their in trouble. Wake will sure remember this shot when they play next season.
January 21, 200719 yr You guys are hilarious...the goal is to score points...the Wake kids were still trying as were Duke's...the starters were in because they need the work. OBVIOUSLY. Hate Duke, hate Paulus, I don't care....Duke is trying to do what it needs to, to be there at the end. :thumb:

January 21, 200719 yr I am a Duke fan and Paulus is among my favorite players all time. He's intense, goes 100% the entire game, very competitive and it shows in his game. I believe he is a good PG for the Duke offense which is just reads on how the defense is set up. The former QB is able to make these reads on the hardwood.
January 22, 200719 yr You can yawn all you want, but you know it's true. I dont like what he did, but its not a huge deal. I do think its worse when a starter who has played most of the game does it than a reserve who just plays in mop-up duties situation. IMO its not something to throw Paulus under the bus about, but its also not something he should be defended over, just because hes being criticized by UK fans.

My whole point is this: I can almost guarantee there were times during the "up" years of Pitino's run — when the Wildcats were routinely running up the score on teams by 30 and 40 points that there were a few "late threes" launched. Seems a lot of folks in this thread want to have it both ways, or they just have extremely selective memories.
