January 18, 200719 yr Sorry, Bobby Petrino, the neo-Louisville empire didn't collapse. Rome-on-the-Ohio still stands, wearing bright red. The program you walked out on like it was a starter marriage didn't drop football. It is, in fact, thriving. Winning more right now than the cash crop cultivated over at Freedom Hall. Not that you care, Bobby, because you don't.... Dennis Dodd speaks up
January 18, 200719 yr So what kind of 'cash crop' are they cultivating at Freedom Hall these days?

January 18, 200719 yr Author What do you think about that article RP ? Good article, and I understand he is trying to fire up some Louisville fans. But I do not hold ANY animosity towards Bobby Petrino, only thanks.

January 18, 200719 yr "...the ethics of Captain Jack Sparrow" And like Jack Sparrow, some of us are still willing to forgive Bobby for his actions. I did enjoy the read, but like RP, I'm not ready to bash Petrino.
January 18, 200719 yr I do find it ironic that Louisville felt like they had one of the best coaches in the nation. He leaves for the NFL, and they get a coach that's even better? At this rate, Tom Jurich will have plenty of buildings with his name on it by the time he leaves Louisville.

January 18, 200719 yr All that was true and common knowledge at Louisville. It was talked about each time he talked other schools and the Raiders. Petrino is a great coach that is not even up for debate. If he wasn't people would not be as upset about his leaving. Personally I think that this was harsh. But I have to admit it was highly entertaining. Who honestly would not have taken the money and the situation if that was one they thought they could be good at? I thank coach Petrino for the wins, but I think we all knew he would leave if the situation was right. I for one do want a coach that is both a good coach and wants to be here for the long run but that is hard to find, hopefully Jurich found him.
